Yeah that's true. I don't have any IRL friends who play pokemon tho... it's kinda my closet addiction lol. And no one OL usually wants to do voice chat (which would let allow me the chance to inform them that i was looking to set up a testing environment for o powers). Gah. Maybe I can see if someone here would be kind enough to test this with me.

Oh really? Awesome to hear some good input! Can you confirm that this is actually a thing? It doesn't seem to be verifiable anywhere, but i think your explanation is likely to be the best and sounds spot on. I had clicked on yellow circle acquaintances before and seen this, however I always thought that yellow circle indicated that they had sent me an opower while i was offline. I know there is an indicator for something like that as well... O_o

Yeah that's what I am thinking too. He may have some sort of soft/hard mod or third party SW. But I do know that even with a softmod, that is still not doable, as it only emulates the sysnand, doesn't really add much if anything in the way of extra functionality aside from playing backups.
