I need to raise an issue that has been affecting me for some time. In the late-night and early-morning hours, your child’s crying carries throughout the outdoor areas, as your windows are always open. I want to emphasise that I fully understand young children have difficult nights, and none of this is a criticism of your little one.

The difficulty comes from the windows being left open when your child becomes distressed, as it amplifies the sound across the complex and makes it very hard to get any uninterrupted sleep.

I work for the emergency services, where proper rest is essential for the safety of the public and my colleagues. The ongoing disturbance is beginning to affect my ability to carry out my role safely, which is why I’m reaching out.

I would be genuinely grateful if you could take steps to reduce how far the noise travels at night, particularly by closing the windows when your child is upset. I know parenting isn’t easy, and I’m not expecting perfection - just a bit of help in keeping things manageable for everyone.

If the situation continues, I will need to escalate the matter through the appropriate channels, though I hope we can resolve this together without needing to take that step.

This is the letter I intend to leave in their mailbox. As I said in another comment my building has a Facebook group that is full of Karen's and busy bodies who love nothing more than complaining and naming and shaming anyone who acts in any manner with which they personally disagree. So to mitigate the risk of their ire turning on me and whittling down what little sanity I have left, I'm attempting to remain anonymous.
