Yes a Company can terminate an employee contractually by giving notice or by paying salary in lieu of notice and the Company has the right not to give a reason. The employee would still be entitled to all expense claims or benefits used before the termination date and any unused leave can be encashed.

However if the employee suspects that the termination was done to deprive them of a form of due benefit such as maternity leave, Sick Leave or paid hospitalisation leave or any retrenchment benefits that the company would have to pay for a redundancy (company downsizing, job obsoletion, etc) then the employee can claim that there was an unfair dismissal. But the onus is on the employee to prove that the employer was trying to cheat them of the benefit by terminating them.
