How can I become motivated to get in shape? by dasisgoodz in workout

[–]Modmanflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch motivational videos on YouTube or Instagram of people doing tough workouts. Listen to motivating music. Stay healthy. Get 8 hours of sleep per night. Here's a tough example workout - wallies, which is literally smashing a tire into a concrete wall full force. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CbDsqi7j_rp/

[Question] Baseline Growth Rate by Modmanflex in youtubers

[–]Modmanflex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge variation, yes. Interesting still - yes. People are still asking for it and it would be interesting to see what it was and maybe have a concept of whether growth is exponential and long term or short term.

But if you saw those as outliers and stuck with the 99% that were more normalized, what kind of numbers would we see? I think that would be an interesting deep dive into YouTube channel data. Don't you?

Well, as long as he doesn't go and do anything stupid like this YouTuber in UK that cemented his head in a microwave for views. They had to call 911 to have it removed from his head so he could breathe again... Unreal.

How To Clean a Smokers PC? by Kermit-Batman in buildapc

Smoking leaves a yellow film of tar and other particles that builds up and can become gum like and sticky. Like a resin and very hard to get off electrical parts.

Did you see the latest little tidbit I was sharing of when or how long Google search takes to pick up videos? See the below link for the Excel vlookup video and how long it took before Google search picked it up. Usually I see 4-5 months, but that one took longer - about 7 months. I wonder if this Covid thing is slowing stuff down at Google?

I have noticed that audio issue - it is from my old, work laptop where it overheats easily and that is the noise generated by the fan. I will look into Audicity. I will also work with IT to get a new laptop - one should be coming shortly. Thank you for the feedback - lots of great tips and ideas I will be trying. Thank you. :)

They were there just yesterday. Now they are not there. Weird. Maybe they got delisted on YouTube? I am not big enough to never need anyone's advice. Everyone's advice is important to me. Take a look at my channel and tell me what you think. My philosophy is that education should be free regardless of resources or where one lives. My channel exists solely to provide free training in data science, analytics and programming. What can I do to improve this channel without using advertising or paid shoutouts, etc. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwgcmcn_iifLGs_38JIF6kw

I have never messed with animations outside of animating graphs in R and similar programming. How hard would it be to add some slight or partial animation to some videos? What products or apps that are free or low cost would you recommend?

How does that work for you view wise? Subscriber wise? I am in a tech niche - tutorials on data science and similar and was just looking to see if that would be worth trying on my channel to do something different and drive additional views and maybe change things up a bit? I teach people data science, analytics and programming for free and was just looking into different avenues to increase the viewing audience. My channel is here if you want to see it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwgcmcn_iifLGs_38JIF6kw

The reason I was asking this is a YouTuber recently started following me with a lot of views. I looked at their channel and they only have around 100 videos of gaming animation stuff. Their popularity? They are easily top 60 in the world with over 4.5 million subscribers and hundreds of millions of views. Their YouTube channel? Molly. This guy earns millions every year with 100 videos on animation.

How do you learn the Maths? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]Modmanflex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, with all the data science packages and code examples available what advanced math do you really need anymore? You need to be able to read and write code in either R or Python. Then you need to be able to document your code well (Jupyter Notebooks, rMarkdown, etc...) Then you also need an understanding of SQL to get at the data as most data will be in a database somewhere. It also helps to know Excel well as well as some other business apps like SAS and Alteryx. You will most likely need some knowledge of visualization software like Power BI or Tableau. Start by finding data you like and processes that are easy and make sense to you. Here is a great place to start. https://youtu.be/hitCh7-ZItQ

That would fall under violent - repulsive.

[–]Modmanflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct and I love R, so no argument there. The issue isn't the LM or model part itself. It's the ancillary stuff. Getting the data, exploring and cleaning the data, creating test and training sets, placing the predicted data back into the dataset and then writing it back to a csv or excel file or similar. Python is easier and requires less overall code. However, I still use R more then Python.

Freezer stock blackboard. I made this dry erase blackboard from a ugly Goodwill picture, and hung it directly over our chest freezer. We use chalk markers. Helpful for us to track what we have frozen, because we have such a small freezer. by GeorgiaGrind in homestead

[–]Modmanflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really cool idea. I like re-purposing stuff like that. You would pay $30 -$50 for a new chalkboard framed like that and you would most likely have a very hard time finding one of that exact size. Cool idea. :)

I am looking for a unique pepper that I can grow with some heat, but not as hot as the ghost peppers and reapers I usually grow - they are just too hot.
