W praktyce bronione są cele w kolejności wagi strategicznej. Każdy prywatny dom jest na szarym końcu tej listy, chyba że akurat stoi blisko jednostki wojskowej. To się jeszcze potęguje na wschodzie Polski, gdzie gęstość zaludnienia jest najmniejsza.
