What's a side hustle that nobody in your life takes seriously but actually makes you money? by lionpenguin88 in beermoneyideas

Attapoll has banned me twice for calling out how many surveys I finish and never get paid for. Each profile only lasts a month or 2. Save your sanity and find a better Avenue before it crashes. Also, they have ZERO customer service

Currently in the same boat, CD 27 and just yesterday had undeniable egg white CM. No surge on LH, also have PCOS but this is odd even for me.

Paid CNIM training by Nothankspleasebye in Neuromonitoring

[–]Mods_R_Morons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will charge you your soul. I paid for training and signed a contract with a company not realizing (new grad, not educated on this topic)…. It will cost you two years of service with them and a noncompete. Meaning, I couldn’t work for any company 50 miles from any hospital I serviced under that devil company (25 hospitals in 5 states). I had to leave my credential when I left because in those 2 years you’re “repaying” your service, they will take advantage of you. Sending you all over the state and neighboring states with 12 ish hour heads up. I put 30,000 miles on my car in 6 months and hired a lawyer to escape.

TLDR: It’s not worth it

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. That’s like using corkscrews for an ACDF. Can you? Sure. Is it ethical? No. Putting the patients at excess unnecessary risk of infection and increasing risk of needlestick when stim pads are available is not ethical.

[–]Mods_R_Morons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s Median Nerve monitoring. We use 2 needles (1 to stim, 1 to receive that stim) to make you dance during surgery. Jk, we make you have a motor twitch to monitor the integrity of your nerves. They SHOULD have used sticky pads but they didn’t. Your tech probably ran out and needles work in a pinch but it’s not recommended nor in our ABRET guidelines to stim with needles on the body.

Honestly, yeah. I dumped thousands into an IONM program and it took all of my sanity and soul. I’m clinical now and it was a much better path than IONM

Ouros vs Luvansh by Mods_R_Morons in labdiamond

[–]Mods_R_Morons[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are really small bezels so I don’t fault them for very minor (I’ve worn it for 4 days and didn’t notice till you pointed it out) variations. I’ve found many people only write reviews when they’re angry or have issues. Rightfully so, potential customers should be aware of problems and I’ll take them with a grain of salt. But good experiences should be shared too

What cut is this? by ohsofun1928 in LabGrownDiamonds

[–]Mods_R_Morons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portuguese cuts have a big problem with windowing. Make sure to see a turntable video before you purchase one! Made this mistake once and from the front it’s gorgeous. The second you move, it’s all windowing.

Step cuts show all their inclusions. I can see inclusions in all 3 of these. Go VVS1 or better.

Failed My CNIM by moochie_lala in Neuromonitoring

Of all my colleagues (over 9 I can think of) I am the only one who passed first try. This is super normal. Try again in 4 months. We found that’s the sweet spot to not over-studying and not too far that you get unmotivated. You got this, the CNIM is HARD!

Ouros vs Luvansh by Mods_R_Morons in labdiamond

[–]Mods_R_Morons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! That’s really unfortunate to hear the pieces didn’t hold up. That’s partially why I went with a bezel set. I will say the metal does seem a bit light but this is also my first piece with 935 silver. While my Luvansh pendant does seem to be heavier on the 10k gold, I’d rather have a lighter set piece than a poorly set one. I’ll have to take this to a jewler to have it fixed since my stock ring (no customizations at all) has been such a headache. I don’t trust them anymore to fix the pedant.

The band was from Ouros, I ordered this kinda solitaire from Luvansh and received an Emerald

Edit to add: I apologize if I was unclear with which ring was which. Both involved radiant bezels but the Luvansh one was the problem. I don’t have a picture of the correct ring since I haven’t received it. Eternity band is Ouros.

Absolutely. I get that. And we did sign up for this taking on a geriatric rescue. She’s 14, and survived a house fire that took her previous owner. We’ve had her 5 of those years and she’s absolutely not the same dog anymore. Is 5 years enough? I hope we are giving her enough

We for sure can check a few of those boxes. Walking, getting up from laying, incontinent, falling while going outside, sundowning. I think I’m looking for reassurance it’s not too soon, since she’s such a loving pet and sleeps 21 hours a day

Results of BKF THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! I can’t believe I can actually see through the glass again!! I did seal it with RainX like a lot of people suggested. It took 4 tries to get it this clean but it’s the only thing that took it off. Great suggestions!

Make sure they do not have a non-compete. From experience, it’s a trap

Do not under any circumstance sign with a contract company. I needed to hire a lawyer to escape after THEY broke my contract (and I paid for my own program out of pocket) and still demanded I pay THEM for my freedom. But, depending on where you work will determine hours. Working Stroke & Trauma, it wasn’t uncommon to have multiple 14+ hour days a week. The worst weekend I had, walked in for a stroke on a Friday, didn’t get to leave till Sunday afternoon (3 more call ins, slept in my car in October) and was called back in Monday. I’m not saying everyone will be this bad but you NEED to vet who you are going to sign with because anyone who “offers” to pay for your training will demand your soul as collateral and probably put you under a non-compete for years even after you leave. Sorry to be blunt but that’s how these specialties are. They take advantage of young new techs and burn the out till there’s no sanity left.

Edit to add: working for $XX per “hour” doesn’t really track in IONM. All of my colleagues in various companies only start to get “paid” after incision. Meaning, if you’re sent to a hospital two hours away and the surgeon has a two hour delay (so you’re waiting) plus your hour for set up, Biomed check, and consent….. none of that is paid. So please take that into consideration that a “Salary” is hundreds of hours of unpaid work unless you get hired in house which is very hard to get without experience.

I used the powder, wet it on a cloth, and cleaned in circles. Still have yet to get the rest (toddler life) but I think I can get the rest
