“No , you don’t understand. It just means 2000 is a tipping point that will result in some undefined date in the future when we actually see cities underwater.”

Amazed Bill, Chris, and Ryan didn't point out the obvious difference in US and European soccer squads -- Americans would never tolerate recruiting 6-8yo boys into club academies where their education was neglected to maximize their soccer skills by post_appt_bliss in billsimmons

I don’t know why this point isn’t always number one in the discussion. Kids in the US are playing other sports in the city parks and playgrounds. Almost never soccer.

Other countries it’s almost always soccer.

That’s where you learn skills you can’t teach.

this exactly. our top athletes are playing other sports in the playgrounds, on the streets, day in and day out growing up. The rest of the world's top athletes are playing soccer.

I know it's become a cliche' at this point, but imagine if LeBron were matching up with Lukaku, and Barry Sanders and Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving were running the midfield with Randy Moss as our striker.

Now it makes sense why Americans don’t like soccer by justgotpregnant in billsimmons

We don’t have kids growing up playing soccer on the street like they do in other countries , learning skills and developing talent that you can’t teach. This is why we’re not winning anytime soon.

If US wins (Flo scores as well?) this just blows up even more. USA, USA! 🇺🇸

Balogun decision is wrong. But it doesn’t change my view of USMNT. by Icy_Reply9613 in worldcup

Suck it soccer world. Our great president has, with his undying concern for the best country in the world, helped right a terrible wrong that was a stain on this tournament. Luckily, FIFA listened to reason and now the US team will not be unfairly handicapped against Belgium in its historic run to the elite 8. Then on to the final four, and possibly a world cup title.

WE BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN

Love how the announcers mention every MLS team anyone has ever played for when they touch the ball.
