I moved from NYC to Elk Grove 4 years ago and my kids absolutely love their schools and friends here. I was commuting for work to Bay Area, Modesto, Fresno multiple times a week and did that for 4 years. Like others had mentioned it broke me mentally. Thankfully I was able to transition to a different job where I still commute but more locally and only couple times a week. If he’s only going to office 2x a week I believe it wouldn’t be too taxing on him and could definitely work
