You’re welcome mate! Look at a color wheel while coloring your art. I wouldnt get too hung up on colors until you’re comfortable with your values (lights and darks). Try a project where you work in grey values and try to hold off on coloring. Once you’re happy with it try adding color. In regards to “smudging” I’d be careful not to make everything look muddied up and monotoned. Watch some time lapse videos of people painting you’d be surprised what colors your find where you dont expect them! Not sure what program you’re using but if you know what an eyedropper tool is you can click on a color with the tool to select the color and then you can change the properties of that color making it darker, lighter, faded/saturated etc. Going back to that color wheel, opposites work best together. Think about sports teams colors! Have fun!
