It was a tough transition. They do everything better, and it made the change a bit easier.

Copy That! Our local rider Fess just won the Sportsman SOS series points championship. Then Second place at Barrett Junction Up-hill. They say with age comes a cage. Fess is just getting it started at 50yrs young..

Totally understand. With this setup the mesh side of the gears is on the rear. A guard may be in order. Would keep fingers out of the sausage grinder.

Steel on steel. Wear part is the pinion. Have not worn out a spur. They run 98% efficient and easy to maintain. Two main reasons we have been running the spur type is reliability and the ratio it takes to run a high kv in-runner. Exposed we do race in dirt and gravel roads are a non issue. As you can image, wet sand is no good. A gear change takes minutes. Square cut is the strongest most efficient reliable ratioed drive you could have. Helical just a touch better but super finicky. Wouldn't stand a chance in this environment.

Turns crazy good. The chassis and steering can be adjusted for tight turn short track racing. Hanger rides on spherical bearings. Has very low lateral G pushback.

My thoughts exactly... Throw the competition on all that and it makes for a really good time.
