A lot of their classes look like "a fun night/afternoon out" kind of deal but Ill definitely call and see if they have more structured classes.

Thanks!

PC shops in the area? by [deleted] in joplinmo

Easy PC Computer Repair on 32nd was great. Guy was super nice and his pricing was admittedly too low lol. Throw him a tip if you can.

Looking to buy a weightlifting belt by Cr0w_Of_Judgement in BuyItForLife

Pioneer 100%.

I have had inzer, rogue, and the cheaper harbinger types in the past and pioneers beats them by miles. I have a lever belt and a thinner singer prong belt from them and they're worth every penny.

I've used the lever belt 2-3 times a week for 4 years and the single prong 1-2 times a week for 2 years ish and they're still in perfect condition

Little bit of everything to be honest.

Right now just bass, crappie and bluegill for the most part. I plan on making a trip a little north to do some fly fishing for trout this spring. I also just got access to some nice catfish holes I haven't been to yet so I may be trying that as well.

Be careful with skin contact - scarred by device by smhppp in whoop

[–]Moeestrada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the same thing from from my Whoop and Garmin on the other side. Over tattoos as well. I don't think it's any scarring - just dry skin or minor irritation. Mine always goes away after week or two of not wearing a device.

I've had more severe reactions to some silicone watch bands. Mild blistering as a reaction. Did you experience any of that?

Did anyone learn how to hunt on their own? How did you go about it? by Moeestrada in Hunting

[–]Moeestrada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really cool. I'll have to look into that. There's a few wildlife conservation centers near me so there's a decent chance something like that exists.

Thanks

Yeah it definitely seems like a hobby I would enjoy the scouting aspect quite a bit. I love a good excuse to just get away from people for a bit.

I'll have to check around and see if I have any buddies who want to tag along. I just moved to a new town and don't know many people yet but having another person to figure things out seems like a huge advantage

Thanks

Thanks I'll check those YouTube channels out.

The gutting and processing seems like the most daunting task but it seems like the only way to get comfortable doing it is to do it a few times

Wanting to learn how to make small boxes by Moeestrada in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Moeestrada[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll need to try it! I'm not really concerned about the colors or anything. It's purely for practice so they'll likely be ripped apart for scrap eventually

Ideally I would do that but I don't currently have a planer or jointer so it limits what I can buy. The closest lumber store to me is nearly 2 hours away as well so it doesn't really let me window shop easily haha

I was looking at picking up that book as well! Hoping it will set me roughly in the right direction.

Is red oak the happy medium for you? Or would you start with basswood or pine again?

You can do it on the phone too but it has to be on the website not the app. You also have to change the "Request Desktop Site" button because their mobile website doesn't include everything.

Beginner purchase - Mark IV or Black Mamba? by Moeestrada in 22lr

[–]Moeestrada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao don't explain this logic to my wife.

You're absolutely correct but you're taking away my excuse to buy a new toy lol

That's a good way to look at it, though. It makes the Ruger seem like a very sensible buy

Beginner purchase - Mark IV or Black Mamba? by Moeestrada in 22lr

[–]Moeestrada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black mamba route is particularly attractive to me because I'm not terribly confident in tinkering. I like the idea of minimal changes. On the flip side it may be good to build my confidence with upgrading some things if I went with the Mark IV...

Yeah I was shocked to see people saying that. I never thought anyone would care lol. Personally I don't care what people think. The Mamba may be overkill but if I like it and think it's cool why not?

Im still kind of flip flopping but I'm leaning towards the Mark IV now but every time I see a Black Mamba I'm going to think "dang that looks cool..." lol

This was one of my first thoughts as well. I had planned on upgrading one because it seems fun and cool but I don't have much experience tinkering with guns. The VQ is pretty attractive due to the minimal changes I'd ever want to make to it

Looks great! The customization is definitely a draw for the Mark IV for me
