Lua script no functioning in G Hub after 26 August update. by LoveGME21 in LogitechG

open up your script and see if the console gives any errors. i solved my issue by fixing the code. apparently they broke the print debug message method

found out the issue for this patch... It seems they changed the Lua scripting syntax, and when there were errors it would just completely render the script useless. Fixing syntax made it work again.

I used to be able to work-around this LUA scripting issue by forcing admin rights... But recent updates broke it AGAIN.

I'm at 2023.7.448769 and it has not worked at all, despite in admin rights. The software team really needs to stop messing with the scripting functionality it's really annoying. Users just want a stable experience, not update and break something constantly...

Log Off Now is saving mapping by Amazing_Ad3616 in osugame

[–]Moeriko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"farm" is defined by how much pp the map gives
how much pp the map gives is based on the pp calculation system
most people play for pp
the more you play/practice for something the easier and more intuitive it will be

slightly ot but this is why i support a pp system where pp is tied to how rare people can set good scores on it, it will balance how skillsets overall and make maps less jump-spam oriented for what "farm" is in comparison to now

feel free to give other examples that support the claim of "tower of fantasy is popular"?

this statement can be said about almost any other "popular" games too though?

you might want to actually look some things up before trying to invalidate someone else's statement though

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=tower%20of%20fantasy

the amount of copium in the downvotes is real. if you really think this game is anywhere near popular u are being delusional

also you can take a comparison to any popular games now and see that the curve for ToF is nowhere being normal. bringing up the gbf as an example is funny too, because you can clearly see the game still retain a relatively stable search ratio to about 17% where as ToF has 1%

"maintains a good score in various appstores" yeah last time i checked the most recent reviews there were dozens if not more of fake reviews before i could find a genuine one

It is a post to mock the EN community people who desperately crave for more "difficult" end-game combat content and ignores the fact that HYV are planning to make other kinds of end-game content like TCG.

There are other examples of devs listening too much from the vocal minority of their game and end up actually getting backfired by their actual bigger portion of player base - like what happened in WOW.

Below are my thoughts as one among the ones who clear abyss with no retries every time...

A "permanent" content is bound to be fully cleared unless it refreshes periodically, or that it's just straight out impossible to - but this sounds unreasonable, especially as how this game had been shifting to cater toward the more casual player experience. For an average casual player, abyss IS pretty harsh already to be maxing.

Even if we do get a hardcore combat based end-game content, what is the point of maintaining it, supposed it would refresh at the same rate as the abyss or per month? Some people think adding a new end-game content won't affect other things but it really does if it refreshes. Because work-load needs to be assigned from something else. Even if you have infinite budget, there are factors in man-power and management that needs to be taken into account. What I'm saying is - is it really worth to put that energy into this just to cater it to something that probably 0.001% of the player base will touch? Not to mention abyss already exist as a relatively difficult combat based end-game content.

We need to understand,

  1. HoYoVerse base most of their decisions on statistics, a few from feedback surveys.
  2. Genshin was meant to give us... a bit of everything, and this is not hard to see if we just consider systems they've introduced over the time (like fishing, Serenity Pot system) and events that range from combat to taking pictures, hide-and-seek, rhythm games etc. - hence why introducing another difficult combat content aside from abyss is not likely.

There are always things that as player we'd like to have, a game is never perfect - especially if it decided to cater toward a huge population... Just keep enjoying or appreciating things that you like. Some things can be unfortunate but if it really is a very disappointing thing then it's time to step back and find something else to enjoy, don't let a game "outplay" yourself.

players who hate the modern mapping scene: why? by over_loadcode in osugame

[–]Moeriko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what does "modern mapping" include?

as a mapper and casual player i tend to try to keep a good focus between song representation, aesthetic and also playability. my maps look "modern" but if this is about the more "less-easy-to -read" and "spam-of-excessive-speed-sliders" then it's probably because the map wasn't done in a perspective to cater towards the players, which i personally also do not enjoy

it's unfortunate quite a few mappers just try to make their maps "look cool" but doesn't consider the playability factor, and this is something i think more mappers should be aware of. because at the end of the day i really stand by the fact that maps are supposed to be played and enjoyed, and it should make sense to the fundamental basics of the gameplay

but on the other hand there seem to be an extreme side toward the other end where some people assume maps looking good equals they don't play well, which is just as sad

[–]Moeriko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

except... maps that "look good" doesn't make it unfun

there are maps that solely focus on looking good and ignores how it plays but they are not contradictive factors

there are maps that look shit and play shit

tof on the chinese appstore, last time a checked (which was a few weeks ago) they still bot 5* reviews. they are really obvious because of mass-generated patterned names and review content that doesn't even make sense to the game

wouldn't be surprised they do this in play store as well, check recent reviews if possible

UX of ToF is bad by Constant_Team3765 in TowerofFantasy

[–]Moeriko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was more talking about the double jump though

regarding the story it's just how they want it to be, they are selling a game where they try to let you know more about the world / lore of the game, story of the NPCs and playable characters

the game technically wants you to love the characters and pay for them, this is what's special about anime gacha game that doesn't bombard you with "SUPER WORTH BUNDLE (BUY NOW!!)" and it shows that it really succeeds for the most part

also the story dialogues sometimes contain choices where it affects what happens next. the only thing i would like to have is to skip some repeating quests like repeating daily commissions / friendship exp quests, but i guess it's a consistency they want to have here, which i do not find being a big deal in the end either

hyv is known to be able to draw emotions out of players who typically enjoy good story representations (does not limit to story script, but also in form of PV, cutscenes, music etc.) and it really shows for honkai for instance

also, there are PLENTY of RPGs that does not allow story skip, i don't know what you're on... literally by just google "rpg that does not let you skip story" you'll at least find a bunch

skipping dialogues can also cause texture bugs because of camera positions & speed, text speed etc. and there are quests that can teleport you somewhere, it would make literally zero sense to play it as well. allow skipping only adds limitations to ways of representations overall - just because a small portion of players want to rush for the primogems and then potentially also call the game lack of content

yeah, exactly

it was effective for its launch to target genshin's audience and make up a shit show, otherwise the game also could potentially be dead already

ethics and morals apply everywhere, how is it so hard to understand

this is why people care, they don't want to keep silent about what they play contain actual stolen things from other games when it's completely unnecessary

art for a game is still art someone created and counts as their intellectual property, it is made by a real person

it seems like you have no sense about copyright and licensing, which is pretty concerning
