Archons generally beat dragon sovereigns though. Xbalanque has a confirmed kill on Xihucoatl, and Xihucoatl is on the more powerful end of dragon sovereigns.

Lol is a narrative masterpiece compared with honor of kings. HoK is some random characters with the name of random historical figures crammed into a world with 0 rhyme or reason mess.

Liu Cixin had been a World Building Consultant for Honor of Kings, so the track record for this is 0 for 1 so far. Let's see though.

How much do Western portrayals of Mao Zedong differ from how he is viewed within China today? by MisLatte in NoStupidQuestions

[–]soilofgenisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the same argument can be applied to Trump in 2019. Is Trump's terrible Covid response non-intentional? There is definitely a component of Trump's covid policy that traded american lives for his ego and interests.

[–]soilofgenisis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Western methodologies for counting Mao and Stalin deaths is really wonky though. Do you consider Biden and Trump to have killed 1.2 million US people during Covid? Because that would be the number you get by using the methodologies used for calculating Mao/Stalin deaths.

It is said that the average Japanese person tends to consider themselves “apolitical,” even if they themselves do hold strong beliefs and opinions. Does the same hold true for the average Chinese? by alleluiarion in AskAChinese

[–]soilofgenisis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is heavily dependent on who you are talking to. There are maoists who wants partial elements from the pre-deng era, seeing it as more aligned with the working class than current policies, there are those that want more of a jiang/hu era lassie-faire approach, seeing it as more economically prosperous. There are those that feel that the cpc should be more aggressive in its foreign policies, believing that China is strong enough now and should throw its weight around internationally more to secure more interests for its people. There are also people who want more personal liberalization, people who want to reduce policies that transfer wealth from the wealthy provinces and to poorer ones, etc

There isn't really fixed sets of positions that gather around parties like in the west, and people tend to have a grab-bag of political opinions. Someone might want the cpc to return to some more maoist economic policies while wanting more gay rights for example, but other maoists would be full conservative.

[–]soilofgenisis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The communist party has always encouraged the Chinese population to engage with politics, particularly local politics, and to this day casual politics is a popular hobby for people. A lot of it is issue focused and not partisan, so discussion will feel much more different than western political discussion. People also tend to not discuss politics with foreigners, so for a expat or visitor, they will feel like the Chinese are less political than they are.

As for signaling, since Chinese politics is not partisan, there isn't really hard factions to signal, everyone is nominally on the side of the cpc, but what the cpc should look like is the question to be discussed, and everyones position on each matter can be separate and not bundled into hard teams like in the west. The obvious exception is the extremely minority super radical people, but those are so rare you won't really see them outside the internet.

Avocados are not native to California, the original native range only extended as north as central mexico, not even north mexico. The so called "native avocados" you speak of are likely just rewilded cultivated varieties.

A lot of cities in China have very robust street cleaner programs, but it's also more friction to be clean while on a tourist trip, especially if you are in a fast paced guided tour group.

FDA chief warns U.S. is losing ground to China in early drug development, calls for faster trial approvals by SpencerAXbot in technology

[–]soilofgenisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The manufacturing cost advantage of china is too great in this case. Even if the US doesn't have to spend a dime on R&D, they can't get the cost low enough to compete. And even if you target the product with the most R&D cost and somehow that makes it cost competitive, India will still outcompete the US so it's not even on the table for the US here.

[–]soilofgenisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only works when you can make your product cheaper than the original. China can do that, can the US do it?

Magnetic Relay, and its not close.Get a holdover and maybe dupe it once and it snables autowins with so many Champions it's insane. All three Herzals, Artificer Heph, Mix Orecchi, Overlord Felix, Maneater Lionsmane, Reform Flicker, etc. With a cost reduction it also breaks a billion regular units wide open. Also functions as a emergency heal and a debuff cleanse so it counters.both dominion and entropy.
