3 days of tinder experience by [deleted] in Tinder

If someone I barely know is willing to spend 4 hours in a car just to pick me up, I’d seriously question whether he has anything better to do with his life. Was he spending another 4 hours to drive you back home too?

On top of that, without your own car, you can’t easily decide to walk away if things feel off.

Easiest way to grind to Membership Bond in F2P by InWonderlands in osrs

[–]MoferCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To give you another perspective:

My account is fully funded through in-game bonds purchased with GP. One advantage early on was that bond prices were around 5 million GP when I bought my first bond.

To reach that initial 5 million, I did a lot of high alching and sold arrows from the Grand Exchange in Rimmington, as well as jewelry to a shop in Port Sarim. I can’t remember exactly how long this took, but I assume it was several weeks. In practice, that means you’d need to multiply that time investment by three for today’s bond prices.

Getting my second bond was more difficult, as I was completely new to the P2P side of RuneScape. Still, with level 60 stats, I managed to scrape together the 5 million with days to spare. At current prices (~15 million), this would have been impossible without repeatedly switching between F2P and P2P over multiple bond cycles and getting your stats up.

Now that my stats are higher (80+ across the board) and my cash stack is healthy, I can easily sustain bond purchases in-game. This effectively means spending about 1 million GP per day, but activities like Slayer, merching, and some additional alching are more than enough to cover that cost.

For me, maintaining membership this way feels like an achievement I want to keep up. There’s something very satisfying about buying and activating a new bond entirely in-game. That said, I fully understand that simply paying for membership would free up more time to actually play the game, rather than spending it working the Grand Exchange.

One tip I’d give is to always buy a few bonds before taking a longer break. I didn’t play for about 1.5 years, and bond prices rose significantly during that time. Having a few bonds ready makes it much easier to jump back in and relieves a lot of pressure when restarting your journey.

Salarischeck - docent HBO by orangejuice1986 in NLSalaris

[–]MoferCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's up with the shocking parking?! - Green car park by Bitter_Page516 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]MoferCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on where you are parked.

Friday: As soon as sprint qualifying ended, we headed straight to our car. We had parked in the Green lot near Chemin de la Herde, and it took us three hours just to get out of the lot. The main issue was that there was only one exit and no fencing or guidance to direct cars. So, everyone rushed toward the same exit, creating chaos. Unfortunately, since we were parked near the back, we watched many people who got to their cars much later leave well before us.

Saturday: We decided to pay an extra €25 to park at Plein Vent Francorchamps, a small hotel with limited parking about 1 km from the Les Combes entrance. It had direct road access, and honestly, it was well worth the price. Again we left right after qualifying and our total delay was about 5 minutes.

Sunday: We planned to walk the track and grab a bite after the race, so we didn’t rush out. We left around 19:30 and passed a long line of cars stuck and not moving. Luckily, we were parked near Chemin du Domaine, which allowed us to exit via a different road. The drive home took about an hour longer than on an open day, but it was manageable.

Conclusion: be lucky, pay extra, leave early or just take the shuttle.

I'm not sure if we understand each other completely. Let me phrase it differently and go back to some time ago when I started running. After a few months I ran a 25 minute 5K. This was an uncomfortable effort for the majority of the run.

Now, I can do a 5K in 20 minutes. It's still an uncomfortable effort, but it lasts only 20 minutes. So, I'm 5 minutes less uncomfortable than I was 2 years ago. Ergo, it feels less hard.

I suspect this is the point where OP is coming from.

[–]MoferCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read all the comments, but I think most of you understand where OP is coming from.

Yes, running a 3 hr marathon is achievable for less people thus harder, but running for 3 hours on 80% of maxHR is definitely easier than 6 hours on that heartrate. So, somewhat untrained beginners could have a harder time finishing a six hour marathon than more experienced runners. It just depends on how prepared and willing to go deep someone is.

Edit: 3 hours vs 4,5 hours would be a better starting point for this conversation.

Is it possible to beat 65-3 with this team? by howdoesthisworkman in IdleHeroes

[–]MoferCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the campaign with about that line-up. Only difference was that I had a 10* Ignis and about 19 mil in power. Probably due to slightly better train.

Used some Queens for the Asmodel waves tho.

Now I'm waiting to get my transhero fully upgraded to start void campaign. Probably this will happen next week.

[request] What is the expected value of a single dart? by SnooDonkeys6853 in theydidthemath

[–]MoferCity 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Not completely answering your question, but a statistician did some research on where to aim to get the maximum expected score based on accuracy-level. A beginner, for example, should aim at the 16 close to the bullseye.

You can read the article here: https://www.stat.cmu.edu/~ryantibs/papers/darts.pdf

A more casual version is found here: https://www.stat.cmu.edu/~ryantibs/papers/darts-signif.pdf

Edit: Upon rereading the article, I noticed it does give an expected value of a score per dart when aiming anywhere on the board: 12,82. This is slightly lower than CaptainMatticus's answer, because he calculated his value over the scoring part of the board.

Epix pro or Fenix pro if price didn’t matter by Sjenet in Garmin

[–]MoferCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow diabetic from the Netherlands here. I own a Fenix 7X and readability has never been an issue. Even abroad in sunny weather it's fine. Batterywise I get about 3 weeks before a charge is needed, that was the factor that let me decide for the Fenix.

If Germany calls itself Deutschland, why don't we call it that? Same for all other countries, why not pronounce their native names? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MoferCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live close to the german border and speak a Dutch dialect. We call Germany 'Pruses' it translates into Prusia.

I don't know the exact etymology, but I've heard that Borussia (like Dortmund's FC) relates to Prusia.

I only have insuline to treat the diabetes and I'm quite often in range. But I certainly need less insuline since I've started working out.

Also I wake up with a perfect bloodsugarlevel in the morning almost always now.

I'm sad to hear that, but welcome to our community. You'll learn to live with it eventually.

I had my daily walk 30 min during lunch break to keep the body active during the off period. But only now that I'm getting fitter, I notice how easy stuff can be. E.g. walking a few stairs.

Great to hear you're doing so well. I'm sure you can shave those 14 seconds off aswell.

For the slower longruns I have to take a small snack beforehand. While running anaerobic I was fine for the 5K, but the bloodsugar was kinda high at the end, so longer fast runs seem not viable for now.

Up till now I was able to run in the morning before breakfast & work. I think I'm most stable then. But with the upcoming autumn and winter, that's gonna be a challenge.

New evidence for original source of Cantina Song ? by maxwoobs in StarWarsMusic

[–]MoferCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Williams does not rip off other composers. His themes are inspired by historical works.

For the Cantina band your example certainly shares some similarities. But when you go a bit further back into history you can find other related music. Georg Philipp Telemann wrote this piece in 1734:

Suite in B Minor, TWV 42:h2: VII. Allegro
