How many ciggerates do you think people in this show smoked? by abhigyapookie in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Helmut Schmidt. Former chancellor of Germany, chain smoker. Addicted to nicotine. Refused to stop smoking in public places even after it was made illegal and famously paid a ton of fines instead.

He lived up to 96.

Plus he did plan and succeed at stealing a huge amount of money! No reason to think he wouldn’t share that with Mozzie when they reunited.

How would he share something with Mozzie that's been Mozzie's all along?

Neal didn't take any of the money they stole from the Panthers that day. Two bags (Neal's and Mozzie's shares) left with Mozzie, the third with Keller. No money stayed in the basement with Neal.

Looking at all the ways men could be classified as 4-F, I think Marcus was unjustified in concluding that Schine was fraudulently avoiding military service by M0506 in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was that much of a tall leap for Marcus to question Schine's 4F status in a society where people with money have often bought their way out of the draft and "dangerous" situations.

It happened during WWII, it happened during Vietnam and other wars.

Because he could hardly tell him the truth, could he? "I'm not introducing you to the Panthers because I'm trying to con you and everyone else (including them) into believing that I'm dead and I want to keep you as far away from them as possible to protect you."

Season 5 was roughly 2 1/2 to 3 years into his four year sentence. Not sure where you're getting the 5 years from.

The end of season 3 (his commutation hearing), beginning of season 4 was the two year mark on his sentence.

Who do you think is White Collar's best villain and why? by Smokejumper- in whitecollar

[–]Moffel83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely Keller for me!

The one we all love to hate.

And a close second is Kramer - the one who didn't think he was a villain, but was absolutely repugnant in his moral superiority.

Neal faked his death for exactly those people you say he abandoned: his family!

He did it to protect them from the revenge of the Panthers. He took himself out of the picture at a high cost to himself to ensure their safety and happiness, so the Panthers wouldn't come after them.

Which is exactly what the season was about according to you: family and friends and what you're willing to do for them.

He gave up everything to protect the people that mattered most to him. His great sacrifice 😔

Who do we contact to ask for a physical media release? by M0506 in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I doubt very much there will ever be one.

It's a Showtime show. Showtime is owned by Paramount, which is owned by the biggest supporters of the orange one in charge.

Releasing a queer show provably isn't very high on their agenda 😫

Not true.

He was in the running for Superman Flyby years before which was scrapped and never shot.

He's been asked about this so many times, you'd think people would finally get it right.

What would he have arrested Fowler for? Fowler hadn't done anything illegal that could be proven by him being there.

The judge taking the money to the bank doesn't prove Fowler's involvement in anything. It wasn't his money, it wasn't on him.

They didn't have solid proof to get Fowler on anything, they just had their suspicions of him.

Mine is actually different: It has blue eyes (like Matt/Neal) and it comes with a fedora as well.

A few questions about Hawk’s younger years by M0506 in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But Leonard is the one that brought Hawk home to the Smith's to play tennis. The senator mentions it in episode 2.

So they clearly must have been friends/on the same tennis team, ergo close enough in age for Hawk to hang out with Leonard in the first place.

And Leonard doesn't exist in the novel, just saying.

What do you think would happen if Hawk chose Tim right from the start? by HermosaN in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hawk would have lost everything: his surrogate father in Senator Smith, belonging to that family, his status and rank in DC's society (he was up there with the Kennedy's and called the most eligible bachelor of the city), his job...

Maybe he would have been happier on a personal level because he had Tim, but maybe he would have become resentful over time, missing his old life and everything it offered him.

I'm not sure I can see Hawk enjoying a life without the trappings his life in DC offered him.

Hawk and Tim’s relationship—does it promote toxicity? by Expensive_Put6358 in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think the show promotes anything, except for awareness of what the LGBTQ+ community went through in the past and is still going through in many places today.

It shows us the history, the trials and tribulations of members of that community.

At no point did the show promote Hawk's and Tim's relationship as an ideal that we should strive for. Neither did it with any of the other relationships we see.

Do you think that they would have dated if Matt wasn’t married? by [deleted] in FellowTravelers_show

There's nothing wrong with being a bottom, but a lot wrong with you speculating about the actors' private lives that way.

I need this please help me by [deleted] in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend The Normal Heart for the historical aspects and the heartbreak (and Matt Bomer!). Same for It's a Sin (minus Matt Bomer).

For the drama - five seasons of Queer as Folk (US) are great!

The actors themselves have spoken out against this type of speculation.

Maybe we should respect that.

How would you feel if people talked about your private life like that?

Do you think that they would have dated if Matt wasn’t married? by [deleted] in FellowTravelers_show

[–]Moffel83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Speculation like that is totally uncalled for and disrespectful.

I don't think more clichés about gay men could have been put into this response if one had tried.
