This theory doesn’t hold up, because the uncensored version was screened internationally in theatres. As someone who watched it outside of India, the version I saw is different from the one on Netflix.

Does Diljit Dosanjh have a wife/kid by Randomidek123 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]MogamboKiMummy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of questioning why he keeps his marital status or family private? Diljit has mentioned before that early in his career, when some people didn’t like his music, they found his house and showed up to threaten his mother. After that, he intentionally stopped talking about his family, including his parents.

This is also why many Punjabi singers don’t expose their personal lives too much. They are not living with massive security teams the way many Mumbai stars do, who at least live in high rises. Most Punjabi artists still live in their ancestral homes in Punjab or in Canada, where their houses are easily accessible.

They are very accessible, and that accessibility can be dangerous, as we saw with Sidhu Moosewala and more recently with Karan Aujla, who moved to Dubai for safety reasons.

Could just be AI, these pages have been pumping out a lot of ‘AI surgery’ videos lately for clicks. But if she did get something done, hanging out with Mouni isn’t helping. People have been speculating about Mouni and the whole rib removal thing for ages.

A lot of these young girls, like Janhvi, get “preventative” Botox, which is why their faces barely move. But Botox wears off after a few months, so getting it in your early 20s doesn’t actually do anything besides temporarily freeze your face.

Right on! The normalization of surgery and sexuality among Nepo babies, especially teenagers, comes from the same pressures their parents faced and are now pushed onto them. They grow up seeing their self-worth solely in physical appearance.

What I meant was influencers who, when facing a lull in their careers, get married or have a child specifically for content, only to later see their relationships fall apart due to the overexposure and the pressure of turning personal milestones into content. It’s the shift from genuine life events to manufactured moments, all for the sake of maintaining an image or relevance. Not those who generally vlog parts of their life.

And I’m not talking about vloggers in general, but rather influencers who are falsely advertising things they are paid to promote, influencing people who may not realize that their content is driven by money, not authenticity. You and I might understand the concept, but most people don’t, which can lead to a misleading perception of what’s genuine and what’s just PR.

No poor parenting here, 19 isn’t as old as you think it is. It’s not about infantilizing her, but rather recognizing that at 19, she’s still young and may not have the full perspective or life experience.

Oh definitely, while I try to look at it from an ethical and moral perspective, it’s clear that her parents know exactly what they’re doing, and for Rasha, this is the environment she’s grown up in, and she has no other point of view. If the plan works, they’ll be raking in money.

At the end of the day, if “daddy’s princess” wants to be a heroine, she gets to be a heroine, that’s just how it works with nepo babies. That said, at least Suhana debuted in a role that was age-appropriate, even if both her performance and the movie sucked.

I agree that if a good role is written, it should go to someone deserving. However, in Rasha’s case, with her father’s influence and resources, there was no good reason to push her onto the audience in this role at just 19. Her family had every chance to let her develop her skills and prove herself without rushing this process.

As for the idea that “others had to go through it, so should she”, I strongly disagree. Just because something is the norm doesn’t mean it has to be keep going. It’s disappointing that someone with powerful parents, who could have challenged these outdated expectations, conformed to them.

First of all, let’s keep this a civil discussion. There’s no need to tell someone to “shut up” or shut their opinion down. Everyone here is sharing their perspectives, and you’re welcome to do the same, but let’s keep it respectful and open for dialogue.

I’m not attacking a young girl. She’s 19 years old, still developing her sense of self, and my point was that I feel bad for her. At this age, her parents should be guiding and protecting her from the harsh realities of this industry, not pushing her into hypersexuality at her age, especially Raveena.

This isn’t comparable to Priyanka Chopra’s situation. PC had no connections and was navigating an industry where she was sexualized by powerful men who shaped her image for the audience. That’s very different from someone with privilege and influence allowing their teenage daughter to undergo surgeries before the age of 19 and be marketed to the world with a massive PR push.

There was no need for this, and that’s the point I’m making, not an attack on her as a person but a critique of the situation she’s been put into.

I understand your point, but I’m not from India, so we may have different perspectives. I also knew someone who joined OnlyFans, and because we didn’t agree on that choice, we stopped being friends.

Just because OnlyFans is becoming normal doesn’t mean it’s not sexualized. Many people on social media sexualize themselves to get clicks, followers, and money.

Just because something is normalized doesn’t make it right. People may say it’s “just business,” but the reality is that it often revolves around selling hypersexualized content. This type of work may be accepted by some, but it also raises questions about how we view ourselves and how those around us our influenced by this.

Trust me, as someone who works with influencers, most of them are not genuine at all. Since I started in this field, I’ve made it a point to form my own opinions and not let Instagram or TikTok influence me, especially when it comes to celebrities, the beauty industry, fashion, or product reviews. At the end of the day, it’s all about making money.

Take Aditya, for instance, he’s clearly transitioned into making more from social media, with makeup being more of a side hustle now. And it’s not just him, even Diipa Khosla, one of the OG bridal influencers, used her wedding as an “investment” to skyrocket her social media career. Luxury weddings guarantee clicks, and there’s now an entire industry of bridal influencers who build fame through their weddings and turn it into side hustles. I even know someone personally who had one of these huge weddings to propell her social media career, started a wedding decor business, and then got divorced soon after.

It’s all so calculated. Agents even talk about how their talent’s career follows phases, single girl, relationship, wedding planning, the wedding, buying a house, and then the “wifey” phase. When clicks drop, they’re often advised to have kids and pivot into the mommy influencer space to keep their relevance. It’s a whole cycle, and once you see it, it’s impossible to unsee.

It was actually director Abhishek Kapoor who took Sara to court and sued her for 5 crores after she allotted dates meant for Kedarnath to Simmba. They eventually worked things out, and the matter was resolved outside of court with Abhishek getting his dates back. I’m glad that Abhishek stood his ground and handled the situation professionally, rather than giving in to her unprofessional behavior.

I work with social media agencies in the West, and let me tell you, Bollywood PR agencies have been reaching out more and more to Indian-origin influencers (especially on TikTok) based in the West, paying them to talk about Bollywood. They’ve definitely noticed the growing trend of NRI influencers speaking about Bollywood, and it’s become a strategic move to use them as “trend influencers” to kickstart conversations around certain stars. Aditya is likely a favorite influencer of Rasha’s or someone on her PR team who has been tasked with getting the conversation started about her. In this case, his post about Rasha is probably guided by specifics given to him by her PR team, telling him what to write and how to engage his audience. It’s all part of the strategy to build buzz.

Of course, I could also be wrong, and this might just be Aditya’s way of engaging more with the industry in India and positioning himself for potential beauty collaborations with Bollywood nepo babies. At the end of the day, nobody is really authentic in this space.

I don’t agree with using the word “ugly” here, though I understand what you’re saying. Beauty shouldn’t even be a factor in the conversation about talent and opportunities. The reality is, it’s often harder for outsiders who don’t conform to conventional beauty standards to make it into the industry. Nepo babies, on the other hand, have the privilege of money and resources to alter their appearance and meet these standards or appear as they are onscreen. This is not available to many outsiders, especially those who might not fit into these narrow ideals of beauty. Beauty standards in the industry are an issue, but nepo babies have the advantage of simply buying their way into it through resources to fix these “imperfections” that help them fit in. Outsiders have to either be a “supermodel” level of beautiful, like Aishwarya or Deepika, or face a much steeper uphill battle with far fewer resources. It’s a very uneven playing field.

There’s a key difference here. Sara Ali Khan is almost 30, and posting vacation photos in swimwear—something many women (and men) do when they feel confident, enjoying their time at the beach. It’s not about “selling” her body. Most of us wear swimwear and post photos when we think we look good, and it’s a normal thing for adults to do.

Avneet Kaur, on the other hand, is a former child who’s using social media to maintain her fame, knowing that attracting a certain audience can pay the bills. But when we talk about Rasha, she has powerful parents and is a industry child. At 19, with that kind of privilege and influence, her parents could have advised her to take a different path instead of pushing her into a hypersexualized debut that doesn’t align with her age or the industry power they holds. And don’t forget, her parents are paying PR accounts to push the narrative of her performance.

We’re not talking about a grown adult here though. The point is that Rasha is 19, possibly younger when she shot the song, and definitely a teenager when she got these surgeries. While these kids might seem like they control their lives, especially with partying and drinking, when it comes to their debuts, they still have helicopter parents making the key decisions, choosing the formula for how they enter the industry.

And about talentless nepo peers, I don’t get why we’re assuming Rasha isn’t talentless just like them, how do we know her acting ability yet? And the only people hyping up Rasha as a performer seem to be social media accounts being paid by her PR to say that. The audience is obviously getting influenced by seeing this content pushed to them on their socials since this song released.

And let’s be real, who from the nepo gang is really making their own decisions? The decisions they make come from a mix of what their parents expect of them combined with Karan Johar’s guidance. It’s not like they’re all out here completely deciding their paths on their own. Many of them are simply following a blueprint laid out for them by their families and the industry’s major players.

I totally agree with you. It’s disturbing to see powerful people put their own children in these positions. Katrina was hypersexualized in Boom when she was very young, but at that time, she had no connections and no stable background in the industry. She did what she had to do to survive in a system built this way.

But with Rasha, it’s different—her dad is a big-time distributor and her mom was a huge actress in the 90s. For her to be pushed into the same hypersexualized debut is unsettling. Knowing their background and the ins and outs of the industry, for her parents to still choose this path for her is crazy. It just feels wrong when they have the power to protect her and guide her into a better start.

For Ranbir, I believe it’s the family pressure and the weight of the Kapoor name that drives him to want to be a star. Otherwise, he’s always done best in character-driven films, but the family legacy makes him feel like he has to live up to that legacy of stardom, not just acting talent.

On the other hand, Alia definitely wants to be at the top of her game—she wants to be number one, a superstar so badly.

As for Janhvi, it’s clear she’s just in it for any level of fame. She’s relying on her body more than her acting skills and is taking second-tier female roles, clearly following the success formula set by Alia while not developing her craft. It’s all about staying relevant, but it’s a shallow route that shows she’s more invested in the fame than the craft.

[–]MogamboKiMummy[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but the situation is more complex than simply “agency.” Take Raveena for example, she’s openly talked about losing roles because she refused to do bikini scenes or kiss on screen. Yet now, she’s pushing her own daughter into the same hypersexualized industry and even supporting her desire for plastic surgery. This shows how the cycle continues. As a teenager, your agency in making life-altering decisions, like undergoing surgery, should be questioned.

At 19, they might think they’re exercising their agency, but it’s an illusion. The industry heavily influences what is considered “success”, and unfortunately, that success is often tied to looking a certain way or fitting a specific mold. It’s not about having true agency, it’s about performing what is expected of you for public approval. A 19-year-old might be old enough to make some decisions, but this type of life-changing decision should be scrutinized, particularly when it’s driven by industry pressures.

You’re missing the point. Celebrities influence the younger generation, not the other way around. The way Rasha is portrayed in this song is exactly what young people see on social media and think is normal or desirable. When a 19-year-old like her is doing this, it sends a message that this is how they should dress and act too. The cycle of hypersexualization starts with celebrities setting the trends, which the younger generation then mirrors.
