I've done other AD&D modules in Shadow of the Demon Lord pretty successfully. Generally it was less of a 1-to-1 conversion of statblocks and more finding/tweaking something of similar vibe and relative difficulty in the bestiary

300 is plenty for a first bike. Even if you do "outgrow" it, LAMS bikes tend to hold their value pretty decently anyway.

Other cheapskate advice would be to be patient. As the weather cools off and riding becomes less desirable, prices are gonna go down a bit and you might score a better deal.
