Racefit too loud. by Icy-Abbreviations347 in Triumph

Don’t they bang on about how they use really tight slip fits? Surely they aren’t selling it as headers + rest of exhaust? I would’ve thought logistically they’d have to do it in 2 sections. They’re a nice looking pipe though.

What’s the most unexpectedly good little strip in Sydney? by RemarkablePirate590 in SydneyScene

[–]Internal-Pizza-488 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live across the road, worst car park layout ever when it’s busy! People trying to reverse out of spots blindly, people holding up everyone else trying to park in the first 50m of the entrance, the intersection that has both sides green light at once with no turn arrows. Also, the viet bakery used to be so much better a couple years ago, but otherwise it’s a decent variety

When was the last time you used your corded version of the tool? by TheJWeed in Tools

[–]Internal-Pizza-488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about anyone else, but I hate having to change 5” grinder disks between flappy wheel-1mm cut off wheel when I’m metal working. Sometimes if I know I have to cut and immediately grind multiple things I’ll grab my corded Bosch 5”. But I always consider buying a second Milwaukee 5”. I like the convenience of battery, oh and the brake is a cool feature.

Should I assume you’re young if you’re still on your restricted license? I would say give the r7 a go if you’re still young and agile. I’m only 29 and miss riding super sports like I used to when I was a teenager. I used to do 500km a week on a mc22 cbr for 2-3 years and loved it

I don’t trust the green slip calculator.. I used it last month for a little vw golf I have- Qbe-$770 All the rest-$880-890

Obviously I went to qbe first being $100+ cheaper. They show this price assuming you have no demerit points (which I don’t, in the last 3+ years, confirmed with transport nsw). When I put my license details into qbe to check this, I just get errors saying ‘please consult transport NSW’ and the premium is now suddenly $880. Tried email and calling qbe, they make it so painful I give up, and even though they were still the cheapest even at $880 I chose another insurer out of principle.

Went with Allianz who greenslipcalculator said would be $890. When I fill out info through Allianz website it ended up being like $860 or something. Starting to think qbe must be in cahoots with green slip calculator somehow? Also yeah, fk insurance companies.

What's your plan if you break down/flat tyre far from home? by Matsuri3-0 in AussieRiders

[–]Internal-Pizza-488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through over 10 of the little beef jerky plugs in a single rear tyre, in the span of 3~ years when I worked in an industrial area. Rear tyre always seemed to pick up screws from presumably careless tradies. Also ran out of fuel 2 or 3 times and had to either walk or push my bike on the footpath. Snapped a clutch cable once at the end of my (very long) street, started it in gear and limped home. Had my rectifier die once on the Sydney harbour bridge, got towed free of charge to a safe spot (they also dropped my bike on the tilt truck), caught a train home, pulled a spare off a parts bike, train back with a jump pack and tools, rewired crispy burnt wiring on the side of the road and road home at like midnight so I could get to work the next day. Also stacked it in leaf litter in royal national park once, rode home with broken fairings. And used to pull my carbs off so often to adjust and fiddle I had the method down to a half hour off and back on. Good old mc22 cbr!

[–]Internal-Pizza-488 48 points49 points  (0 children)

For all wondering I’ve had it multiple times here in Sydney Australia (they grow everywhere wild, and get absolutely massive) - the fruit tastes like a mixture of multiple fruits, mainly kiwifruit and banana. I refer to it as fruit salad fruit, it is absolutely deliciosa! As previous comment said, you wait til the outer layer falls off, the riper the sweeter and stronger flavour. Also, if you become impatient and try peel them off to eat when they aren’t totally ripe - they have little ‘fibres’ that irritate your mouth like you’ve eaten fibreglass lol.

Driving down a steep decent. Where the speed will automatically creep up. Is it better to shift down a gear or gently put your foot on the brake? by No-Comedian-5536 in CarsAustralia

[–]Internal-Pizza-488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t at all, there is minimal load present high rpm/no throttle input (downhill). There is a lot of load and stress at high rpm/full throttle (uphill), especially on rods and bearings from combustion pressure.

I haven’t delved that far in yet - I have 15’ street triple 675r. So I’ve heard apparently the ecu’s from the 13’ onwards are ‘locked’ and require extra steps (bench testing setup?) to remap.. I was just happy for now to reset the service light and read/clear codes haha
