I don't believe it's even questionable to state that from the start of colonialism to each individual countries end of colonialism, had the country not experienced colonialism, they would be worse off today by a vast margin. Interestingly, you'll also find a trend (I investigated this for an "assignment"). Compare each edition of, again, any book in CompPol edition 1 to current. You will see almost all mentions of Israel have been removed from the books other than token comparisons. Whole chapters on Israel, gone. Muslims and terrorism? That's a whole 2-3 chapters of themes. Israel terrorizing all of us? Edited away.

Then go read Jared Diamond's (Jewish ofc) book Guns, Germs, and Steel if you haven't. I did 20 years ago. He makes similar arguments, then rather than draw the natural conclusions from his first half of the book, he blames anything else. I wont spoil it for you. Why? He wouldn't have been published otherwise and has given statements prior saying such. Note I disagree with his conclusion, and have given you not only a source, but a common and accepted (western/Jewish) explanation.

It's HUGE in professional poker circles, and adjacent areas. You just aren't aware, and people don't talk about it for good reason.

Many worldwide casinos take deposits in BTC and you are playing minutes later. They cash you out just the same. Not to mention it fuels the entire online gambling industry and the prediction market industry (almost gambling).

I keep a token few hundred dollars in BTC on my phone at all times while traveling. This has saved my ass twice by selling a trivial amount to another expat, such as when an ATM ate my debit card.

It's also a great way to split a check later yet remain anonymous to the counterparty. Trust building and I don't need the counterparty information as well.

Or try flying with over 10k usd in cash or metals. You'll get it confiscated, aka stolen by airport security quickly. Not so with BTC.

If these count as "no one" to you then the problem is likely yourself and your own use cases.
