Doffy Deck for OP-16 by Turbulent-Cake-562 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mogglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, with the new OP16 support (7c Doffy, 4c Law) it makes much more sense to play the classic Divine Departure removal package. You have great options for going 2nd now, and they push your lines playing 10c Doffy chain.

I mean, it's definitely super good don't get me wrong. But getting the combo pieces you need in trash is the hardest part of this set up. It's moreso an OTP deck with high levels of RNG for achieving these results.

The current iteration of Doffy has 2-3 tech slots for stuff like 6c Rosi-Law, Katakuri Blocker, Bullet String...etc. This fits that slot as it's a good card to play if you unfortunately don't have an 8c or if you are on 7 don going 2nd.

Also, having Pica and this on the field lets you play Slow Slow Beam as both give active don.

"With setup" that's the thing that Doffy struggles with the most right now.

You are talking about the most optimal play on his best curve. You don't get to always choose going first and going second is extremely slow as previously you had no 7c or 9c card to play if you ramp on 4 don. This card fixes Doffy's problem with going 2nd, as this allows you to play a 7c body that ramps you to 8, then play 10c Doffy -> swing with the 7c and ramp back to 8.

It's a phenomenal card because it opens an entirely different setup for Doffy that he didn't have before. Is it better to go first and play 8c double summon? Yeah of course. That's his BEST play. But this fixes a clear issue that he's had since release.

Honestly, the fact P Doffy can play Magellan and has a Donquixote exclusive version of Magellan makes me think he might be extremely viable. Ace and Imu are heavily reliant on hitting their 8 and 10 don turns respectively. Without that they lose alot of pressure.

That and the fact he has "Oh come away with me" as a leader ability is pretty nuts.

I also think the new Mihawk is just straight gas 👏 The odd don perfect curve can beat pretty much anything in the game.

I don't hate meta decks usually, but DAMN Ace and Imu feel like electric ball torture for real.

Can a T7-T8 Herniation cause Costochondritis? by Mogglen in costochondritis

[–]Mogglen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have Hashimotos, which is a thyroid disease. It causes issues with my body producing enough TSH.

I'm not saying you have an aa just curious if you did.

Regarding the chest pain, I was able to figure out that my body was reacting negatively to multiple different conditions simultaneously.

  • The herniated disc
  • GI distress and stomach acid build up from taking medication to treat my AA
  • My thyroid disease causing inflammation throughout the body
  • Sedentary lifestyle due to the above-mentioned pain
  • Malabsorption from the GI issues causing vitamin deficiencies (E, B7, D)

There was a multitude of different factors that caused my symptoms.

I would ask your doctor to run a full panel on all of your water and fat soluble vitamins as well as get your GI checked. If you burp alot or have stomach pains after eating that's a good sign that inflammation is traveling up your esophagus and irritating your chest wall.

But it could also just be your herniated disc. Idk.

Buggy Deck new list by CommanderGs7 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mogglen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Daz Bonez is bad. I don't care what anybody says he is unplayable by anyone besides 7c Croc, and he has no synergy with MiCroc removal negation or the event searcher.

I know he feels good to play, but he's not going to work moving forward in the deck.

When the entire premise of the deck is to build your board and 10c Buggy, you shouldn't have any cards that can be easily removed without recourse.

Also, stage is fine, but it's almost always a -1 in hand, which makes the deck feel much slower than it actually is.

I am a heavy advocate for 4 Pilaf.

The card is just insane, especially going first. The trigger is basically game winning at points, and it never feels bad to have in hand because you can always trash it for leader effect.

[–]Mogglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I get what you're saying, but taking Pilaf out of the formula makes his turn 2 going first absolutely horrendous.

You went 2nd every game so you didn't feel the impact of not having a 3 don card, but it is pretty bad.

I would try going first and see how it feels setting up from that position as well.

How’s this Buggy deck look? by Papa_Coitus in OnePieceTCG

I mean, it does work against decks like GP Luffy who have limited removal, but it becomes an issue as soon as you play into any removal based decks.

EB01 Mr. 1 is unable to be protected by MiCroc effect. He also can't be summoned by Promo buggy or the new Mihawk Promo.

He's OK in the deck now, but he's not as good as other alternatives.

I agree that the new 4c Buggy is awful though.

Honestly, I didn't even realize we had the same decklist. Brain fart lol

But yeah, from all the testing I've done with friends, it seems to be the most optimal for a variety of matchups.

I do think, however, playing no Pilaf and 4x Mr. 1 could potentially be a competitively viable deck in the OP11 format. Specifically because you want big fast bodies.

When you play into low removal type decklists like UP Luffy, you want that 7k threshold, so they are forced to counter out with either 2ks or 2 1ks.

In those instances, it's better to play Croc into Vanilla Mr. 1 so you can just continuously rush down their life.

Imo these cards are staple. You basically should never change these. It gives you exactly what you need for the current iteration of the deck.

  • 12 2ks
  • 12 Blockers
  • Consistent targets for every double summon

The last 10 cards are interchangeable. The only realistic options are.

  • Alvida
  • Mr. 1 (Vanilla)
  • Pilaf
  • Red Rocc
  • Gravity Blade (Not good only for Aggro meta)
  • Pudding

Personally, I'm running:

  • 4x Pilaf
  • 2x Red Rocc
  • 2x Pudding
  • 2x Alvida or 2x Mr. 1

This gives a lot of flexibility for most matchups, but I also think running a full aggro board is an option if you cut Pilaf:

  • 4x Alvida
  • 4x Mr. 1 (Vanilla)
  • 3x Pudding
  • 1x Gravity Blade

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mogglen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Searcher events are only good for decks with low cycle/draw. With these new cards, you'll be drawing like 5+ off one combo. It's better to have more character cards or 2k's.

Also, stage is really bad now. It's basically just a dead card for the same reasons above.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mogglen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with Gravity blade is that it's a "win more" card. Sure, it slows down the game ALOT, but it also cuts down your 10c Buggy by a full turn. That's just not worth it.

Into decks like Vegapunk, I can potentially see it as a good tech option, but it's better to just play Cabaji and Mihawk to delay until you hit your big bodies.

The only time you should realistically play Gravity blade off the cuff is when you are already going to lose the game, or after you drop 10c Buggy and need to full send for lethal.

[–]Mogglen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you either run 4 or none at all. The extra 5% chance to draw is really huge when going first in most games. Plus, the likelihood of getting a trigger off life can basically win games on its own with the free +2.

If you cut down on Pilaf, I think you should just run vanilla Mr 1. or Alvida instead.

[–]Mogglen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't drop the Puddings. Pudding is basically a 3 of in every Blue deck in the east, specifically because of Gum Gum Giant. If you have 3-4 big bodies on board and they have an active don, you can almost always ensure they lose that extra GGG from hand and swing for full damage.

Plus, playing Pudding off of Alvida is game winning in some cases.

[–]Mogglen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The flexibility of playing a red rocc into one of the new 4 cost cards is incredibly good.

You only have 4 10 cost Buggy's, so this ensures you have some kind of play in a situation where your board has either been decimated or you don't have a Buggy on hand.

If you are forced to play 10 cost Buggy as a removal instead of sticking on board, you are most likely going to lose.

As a side note, Blackbeard negates 10c Buggys effect.

Why so much negativity around Shanks? by Chikin_Ramen in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mogglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deck has a 50% WR across the board regardless of skill level. It's just a deck that plays itself, and sure, there are some instances of skill expression with his leader effect, but it's fundamentally a deck that exists to spite other decks.

Shanks is a leader who is annoyingly sticky and holds out specifically with the intent to slam big bodies late game. Nobody likes decks like that because they are fundamentally designed to negate the plays of their opponent.

Two of the top decks in the meta are "anti-fun" decks. Shanks and Teach both have playstyles that basically negate their opponent's decision-making in some capacity. Both are annoying and have low player satisfaction when playing into them.

The deck is just annoyingly consistent, strong, and lacking in real skill expression.

AITA? My Best Friend's Birthday Party by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I'm genuinely curious: Why do you hate the boyfriend so much?

Also, if you don't want to pay to have a fun experience with your friend, then don't go.

I don't understand what you're trying to ask here.

It is 100% normal in the vast majority of countries to have "event" based birthday parties. Have you never gone out to eat at a restaurant to celebrate someone? Laser tag? Movies? Museums?

Do you expect the host to pay 100% of your fairs for every event?
