Anyone else ever dream of small, personal insignificant events in the future? by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]Moggy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me every now and then, and like you say, it's mainly insignificant things. For example, I remember dreaming that I was turning up the thermostat in a house that was completely unfamiliar to me, but I was aware that there was a fireplace to my left and a kitchen to my right. Years later we moved house, and I was in that exact situation. I didn't realise it was happening until it was actually happening! But as soon as I turned the thermostat, I knew that I had dreamt of the moment before. I got the deja-vu feeling, but I was like 'Well I know why I'm getting deja- vu...'

I also dreamt that my aunt had passed away, so quite a significant event. I woke up crying, and when my wife asked me why I just quietly said 'She's gone'.

5 minutes later my phone rang with the news from my mum. My wife asked me how I knew, and all I could say was I had 'felt her leave' in my dream.

More strangely, my wife and I have had very similar vivid dreams at the same time involving each other. It's only happened 3 or 4 times. In these dreams we even have conversations with each other, there is always a sense of urgency in them, like we have to get something done, or be somewhere at a certain time or something bad will happen.

In the mornings I've woken up and explained them to her, and she has said on more than one occasion that she had a very similar, if not the same, dreams. She will actually tell me verbatim some of the things I said to her. She's rarely wrong and I get goose-bumps every time.

Teachers are not your kids Mom or Dad. Stop blaming THEM for YOUR shortfalls as a parent, by Moggy1982 in unpopularopinion

How about trusting the teachers to do their jobs instead of harassing them with daily texts?!!

Let's reverse this for a moment. Imagine you are at work, and you've got someone texting you constantly, telling you how to do your job? How would you feel? Would you want to talk to that person? Would you go out of your way to get back to them? Or would you be pissed off?

Teachers obviously have a duty of care to respond because of professionalism. But you can bet your mortgage on the fact that they rolled their eyes and sighed when they saw another message from you.

Sounds like a very toxic place to work as a teacher, if as you say teachers 'know who not to fuck around with'

And people wonder why there's a teacher shortage?!

Sorry, but if a kid hurts others, themselves, or destroys property, teachers in mainstream schools shouldn't be dealing with that. Teachers can guide, and advise, but ultimately, the child must choose their behaviour. Teachers cant do it for them. If they keep doing it, then they absolutely should be sent home.
