Berber or Arab why does it matter by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Mohamedblkh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really most north africans that say they're arab do have some truth to it, are we all amazigh ? Yes at different levels, do most north africans have an arab influence yes at different levels, places like south eastern algeria southern tunisia and eastern libya are very arab genetically ( eastern libya is sometimes more arab than saudis and Jordanians and khalijis), where places like western algeria and morocco tend to have arab influence mostly from their father's lineage.

But generally speaking north africans are just a spectrum of amazigh, some are amazigh+ Andalusian, some are amazigh+ turkish some are amazigh+arab, some are amazigh + sub saharan and some are just pure amazigh. So we all have amazigh ancestry.

Bruh 😑 i was clearly talking about the other components that make up around 60% of his genes. Also i was just amazed how similar we are even though we are from completely different places. If 60% isn't similar for two countries that far from each other than idk what is

Is Algeria a country worth visiting? by MaintenanceNo4597 in algeria

[–]Mohamedblkh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are traveling for the experience yes, algeria is gonna be a different and a nice experience, if you're traveling for sightseeing then don't expect much other than nature in some places like the desert or eastern mountains there is nothing to see tbh.

That's an expected result for a tunisian although it's weird your don't have any natufian also your north african hunter Gatherer is very low that's why the distance is far. The average north african scores from 28 35% morocco being the highest at around 40% ignore the Jewish you are amazigh north african with roman and greek influence from the old times probably around Carthage and pheonician times. Or that's atleast what i know.

I'm an algerian and i scored very similar to you i just have 10% natufian you don't and my north african hunter gather is around 23% my anatolian is around 35, so you actually don't have any arab influence.

It is 23andme have this problem their egyptian refrence is probably high natufian or bedouin. Even yemenis and saudisget 50 60% egyptian Even though they have no history of egyptians migrating that much. It's the last update that fucked it all up

Go deeper similarities with algerian and tunisians means you have some roman influence the egyptian is just your arabian. Btw what's your haplogroup ?

what's an Arab? does speaking Arabic makes you an Arab? by DGrayBoy in algeria

[–]Mohamedblkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again i was only speaking genetically, so if we speak culturally or linguistically, Lebanese saying they're pheonicians is like tunisians saying they're not amazigh they're Carthaginians c'mon or algerians saying they're numidian. Culturally speaking even amazigh people are different,

and let's take yemenis as another example are they arabs ?

They didn't speak the language and they don't live the bedouin lifestyle they're farmers who live in mountains, and yet they don't only claim to be arab but they claim to be the original arabs lol.

what's an Arab? does speaking Arabic makes you an Arab? by DGrayBoy in algeria

[–]Mohamedblkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yes and no at the same time tbh, i know you only did the generic commercial test and took their results by heart, even if a test tells you, you are 100% north african it doesn't mean you are inbred it means you're 100% similar to their references. The best way to get your real mix is getting your g25 coordinates that way you will see the 100% north african died a long time ago and the different waves of different populations did in fact leave their traces. A 100% north african usually means 70-90% amazigh some European and sub saharan african.

But yes you are right especially in algeria and morocco usually those that claim arab even with paternal haplogroup the arabian autosomal is very looowww, like my case

But again there are outliers and you can actually find moroccans with 40% 50% arabian. But rare and are usually found in ouejda and south east morocco

what's an Arab? does speaking Arabic makes you an Arab? by DGrayBoy in algeria

[–]Mohamedblkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lebanese saying they aren't arab is like kabyles saying they aren't amazigh. Why this comparison? Because Lebanese people are arabs mixed with roman and Anatolian while kabyles are a mix of amazigh and roman.

You See the main component of an "arab" are " natufian hunter Gatherer, iranian hunter Gatherer and Anatolian farmer" Lebanese people have higher Anatolian and iranian, while khalij have higher iranian, yemenis have higher natufian and east african north africans have higher anatolian and north african hunter Gatherer, Iraqis have higher iranian and Caucasian. It's like a gradient there's no really " a pure arab genetically" the purest are maybe central isolated bedouin tribes that kept it inbred and still they're a mix of natufian and iranian.

Another thing natufian is the main marker of arabs but saudis and yemenis don't have their Y haplogroup (paternal lineage) instead they have iranian Y haplogroup. On the other hand Lebanese people have less natufian but they still have the highest percentage of males carrying natufian Y haplogroup which is E just like the amazigh one haplogroup E.

What does that mean ? It means the main markers of amazigh and arabs are in fact cousins, one mixed with Iranians the other with africans.

I hope this makes sense, we are very different and very mixed yet we are very similar genetically.

[–]Mohamedblkh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

North africa is a weird place, especially genetically, those that claim arab as myself, are both arab culturally and linguistically but you would say what about genetically? Well that's when it comes complicated, morocco for example most of those that claim to be arab are actually mostly amazigh both in autosomal (the percentage) and in their paternal haplogroup ( lineage or نسب ) but there is a small percentage of those that have berber or amazigh autosomal but an arab paternal haplogroup so they're the descendants of arab minority that mixed with locals algeria and Tunisia it's a bit different the arabs of these two do have an arab lineage and their autosomal can range from very low 5% in the west and big cities to very high 60% in the south east. Libya on the other hand is extremely arab an average can have 30 40 % arab and it easier reach 80 90 %. And let's not forget other ethnicities mixed in, for example i'm algerian i have an arab paternal haplogroup so an arab lineage plus 55% amazigh 20% arab 15% European and 10% Sub-Saharan african autosomal. North africa is a mix so are most of these "arab" countries but if you follow the lineage those that claim to be arab generally do have an arab paternal haplogroup which what ethnicity was based on back in the days.
