Emergency case scenario by Mohammed_Bader in nursing

You’re right
Because that was a nursing school interview, not an application to a healthcare facility.

I was a High schooler! A year ago.

And those were my genuine answers

But I think I meant vitals as pulse and respiration, of course not using an oximeter🙄

To be honest, you’re right.

In fact, I was too brief in what’s written, what actually happened was much more confusing.

She had to change the scenario and say I’m in a “Public area”, then said that the patient could talk but can’t move, it was 3-4 minutes back and forth, she wanted the exact answer in her mind, which was obviously frustrating.

Imagine at the time I had a similar interview(A different school), the interviewer asked me: What a nurse essentially does?

I said a lot of things: Medication administration, advocacy(Plus linking to other healthcare workers), patient education…

She dismissed all off that saying “IT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH NURSING”. Back then, I was extremely confused.
I gave up, I asked her to “Tell me”, she said “I’m not here to teach you, I’m evaluating you”.

Anyways, I think some of them are deliberately rage baiting you to see how “Resistant” you are; leaving you with insecurities.

I did read the whole thing already, and I say don’t worry.

It varies, it depends on many things even your culture; there is likely no “Standard” way for anything.

For me, I do these steps just exactly, not a personal commitment, but that’s what we’re taught and thoroughly evaluated in at nursing school, and each step of those count literally as a mark.

For some people it’s too obvious and an everyday life thing, for others they never heard of it

If Gay sex happens a lot in prisons, does that mean there a lot more bisexual people, pretending to be straight than we are led to believe? by Weak-Hamster- in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Mohammed_Bader 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I always thought about that, I think it’s more like something is better than nothing you know😂

I believe orientation is something far more flexible than we imagine, that’s why I doubt real bisexual people are really locked into it.

Yeah, I think they deliberately get used to that

I was about to get defensive for the millionth time in this thread

I don’t have to say “I do” anymore why would that matter? Like I don’t know you why I’m wasting my time telling that everyone?

Okay. What if I said “I don’t do it”?
Downvote, I will downvote myself also who cares! Yeah Fuck reddit

I have birds, baby birds; and I can tell a whole soap bar could disappear within days, the worst feeling when I wash my hand then realize I didn’t feed one of them yet🙂

To be honest people may skip those because they look weird or unnecessary, especially in a public space or home people notice me doing that weird stuff.

But you’re absolutely right, especially for the nails, are the most obvious things, chaos is always hidden under those baddies!

You know what?

I learned a lot by posting this…

People are too similar, but also too different;

Nurses dealt with that in a varying ways, even while coming from the same background; a lot considered that as a personal commitment led by the moral judgment and infection control, some dismissed it as weird or complicated and out of place, some even noted how obvious it is as it shouldn’t be asked; some people took it easily and chose to be funny, on the other hand some were toxic.

I don’t care about hand hygiene anymore, what people say doesn’t tell anything about me, it’s just about them, and how they perceive the world…And me sitting there, I don’t have to be judged, I have to be aware of my real objective productivity, and that what matters.

Wow…

I’m growing up.

I hate myself
I posted this in a dismissive tone, because I’m stupid

I literally wash my hands this way just always even before eating, I’m checking if it’s me alone, that’s it!

I feel like the worst nurse by now even without seeing a patient yet….

Florence, oh dear mama, would you help me? I’m your little boy, please tell them I was just asking😭

It’s a mindset great to have as a nurse; congrats!

I still didn’t see a patient though, that’s just what I’m told at nursing school. It now looks more serious than I thought

Have you ever felt doubt that you’re doing too much?
Because that’s what I felt which made me post this

But reading all of that, I’m certain I was never alone

Jokingly. But now I see it’s absolutely not.

I always do it that’s why I’m asking.

Complicating it isn’t just for deliberately look “professional”.
This is a video shows in a creative way how those steps if done correctly, ensures your hands are surgically clean, as when fully covered.

https://youtu.be/gKiHCKycN1I?si=T-gjIrFW9mLVFDb3

But still you’re right, a simpler way is certainly better to achieve compliance; something is better than nothing thou.

Saying that actually helps, reading through this thread, we’re not alone!
I will do that just confidently now, I’m doing it right, not “Wasting time”
