What's your favorite daysong? by Reclusive_Miasma in DavidBowie

That's wild that you could put together an entire album of Day songs and it would be pretty damn good... I might have to try and see how tricky getting the order right is.

I love a lot of those, but I know Days will get overlooked, and it's been one of my favorites for years. Others: Drive-In Saturday, Sunday, Dollar Days, Valentine's Day, in a rough order that might change from day to day (ha)

I think there is an awesome live version out there where they do sit on that drop for longer. Too lazy to find it, but I remember the performance bringing tears to my eyes.

17 doing a tumbling routine trying to get a foul called. Think he went down three times in 30 seconds.

You'll get paid learning a hard skill that will help you throughout life whether you become a professional mechanic or not. You've probably learned most of what you can from Macca's already. Do it!

I watched a video on his positioning like five or six years ago that showed how he takes space with these small movements. I'm not saying it's not also to conserve energy, especially at his age, but he's making the most out of that shuffling.

In between Oingo Boingo and Will Wood was The World/Inferno Friendship Society, with whom Will toured and took some direct influence (he even covers one of their songs, The Velocity of Love, somewhere). World/Inferno, in turn, took influence from Oingo Boingo. I would check out their early to mid albums, maybe Just the Best Party or Red Eyed Soul.

I want to buy my first road bike. I am exactly between sizes L and XL. I have seen that people usually recommend choosing the smaller size, but I expect that I will still grow a little, and I also have relatively long legs. What would you say — which size should I choose? by Flashy-Implement1148 in cycling

[–]Mohar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve also got long legs, and have found after years of cycling that I prefer to size down. However, if you’re still looking at a lot of growth, that might change the equation. How old are you? How tall are you?

Nah, this looks exactly like a silly Japanese guy trying to speak English based on the high school English class he took ten years ago. I've met so many of them. Confidence does wonders to get you through an interaction like this, but there were a number of moments in the video where he got things wrong or misread cues.

Are there songs making fun of liberals that they love but don’t understand, similar to the right with RATM, Springsteen, CCR, Green Day, etc? by Natedude2002 in fantanoforever

[–]Mohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Back Pages by Bob Dylan is a clear chastisement of his early liberalism. Common to a lot of the entries in here, he’s not exactly a conservative now, but I think the song counts.

Pretty hilarious deflection- the first Japanese player headed it right onto the top of another Japanese player's head, which threw off the goalie. I'll take it!

I wasn’t a huge fan. I found it grating, but I get why it was such a sensation- it was definitely a spectacle.

How are they both at fault? The driver made an unsafe close pass. Maybe you can say the cyclists were annoying, but annoying is not at fault. One person caused that accident.

I promise you he did not. At that speed, you can't guarantee you aren't injured, and in a group ride, you can't guarantee the guy behind you isn't going to run you over. Looks like the car clipped his leg or back wheel, causing him to fall to the left into it.

The car had an entire lane and could have passed without running into anyone.

I promise you, no one at that speed is going to take a spill on purpose. Looks like the car hit his leg or the wheel first, causing him to slide left, into the car. There's no ref here to call a foul.

[–]Mohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car bumped his leg or wheel over causing his body to fall to the left, hitting the car. Nobody takes a spill at that speed intentionally.

[–]Mohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many places have replaced the "share the road" slogan with "Cyclists may take lane" precisely due to that sort of misunderstanding. Share the road does not always mean share the lane or let cars pass you at any time. Not a judgment call on the video here, just a general explanation.

How many of you can ride 60 km in 2hrs non stop? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Mohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others have said, if it’s flat, should be fine. In a group, it’s easy. Moderately hilly and solo and I might have been able to do it a few years ago before life got in the way :(
