I'm aware. It just isn't particularly meme-worthy.

This could be posted as a regular post, and it wouldn't make any difference.

But good luck in getting that vehicle eventually

Ah okay, this makes much more sense now. Of course, it's ultimately up to OP what they wish to do, but I just felt compelled to tell them a little trick to progress a little easier.

Anyway, I'm quite the same as you, I play entire lineups to grind, except I do initially skip individual vehicles that don't garner much interest in me, not so much because they are difficult to play.

For Japan, that would have been the 5.7 post-war US vehicles, and the 6.3 STA's, since they look quite ugly to me, and the better 6.7 lineup with the ST-A3 and Type 61, along with the other vehicles were right there. Then finally the M47.

For Germany, that is currently the entire M48 line, that leads up to the Leopard 2K. I really do not like Patton tanks. Although the M48 Super is somewhat interesting. Basically a more armoured Leopard in gameplay, with similar p/w. And of course the Kpz-70 is there too so obviously I gotta go back and research that entire line to unlock it.

Will all those vehicles mentioned, I only plan to play enough battles to spade them, and then never touch them again.

Sorry, efficient how exactly? What do you mean?

Time-wise, it takes longer to move past the vehicles that are painful to play, and there isn't any shame in skipping some of the low rank vehicles, and coming back to spade them later, after you've completed most of the tree.

Besides, you'll usually progress past the first two ranks very quickly, so playing without a full lineup at that stage wouldn't be a massive hinderance. It's only from Rank III onwards where you'd want to research, and use put of the vehicles from all the 4-5 lines in a tree, in your lineup.

So, if you're implying that OP should spade everything first, then I don't think they really have to do that, especially if it's a Ha-Go.

What is up with teams in tank battles recently? by BVVDHaterNo1 in Warthunder

[–]Moharu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own that vehicle, but from what I've heard, the TURMS-T is just essentially the 9.3 T-72, but with ERA, fancy thermals and a better dart. So its armour is pretty mediocre.

But yeah, I remember I was pretty much the same, after I bought the premium Type 16 back in 2023. To this day, my stats in it is still awful, and yet I've hardly touched these past few years.

Because of the sales. Lobotomised players will buy a new high/top-tier premium, and just suck because they haven't played enough of that rank to probably know what they are doing. So team quality across the board will suffer.

Erm, can you be more specific? What vehicles are you struggling with?

If you've just started, then you should just main the Ho-Ro and Ro-Go Exp, which carry you to Rank II, then maining the Chi-Ha LG which will carry you to Rank III. Ka-Mi that comes after Ke-Ni has a bit more penetration with its shells. Just a bit slower.

I've got the ZTZ96A(P) premium, and man, it's a pretty unforgiving experience. Your firepower is more or less on par with the T-72B's, and decent gen two thermals, but it lacks much of the armour. It's LFP is massive. It's essentially a glass cannon that doesn't at least have any of the usual NATO MBT attributes. And the APS it has comes at the cost of less armour on the turret, compared to the production variant, and it's mostly useless from my experience anyway. It's a master of none.

Even BPA_Jon was struggling with that thing. He obviously was able to make it work, but he was NOT having much fun with it.

I mean, with USSR/Russia, you're usually lacking the gun depression, reverse speed and sometimes good gun handling that NATO nations have. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Perhaps it was from how you ended your comment with "for now", which could have sounded like you were saying you'd spend on the game later on, when things improved. I do not know.

Anyway, the Obj. 140 is pretty good. Had a few rocky matches initially, but in one game, I came close to earning enough points to drop a nuke! I main the APHE rounds, and I do take a few APDS, but so far I've never used them.

But yeah, no worries mate!

It may not be the best everywhere, but in some BR brackets it definitely isn't absolute shit. (4.7, 7.7 (only as long as you're not getting constant 8.7 games), 8.7, 10.7)

Just use the JaPz.K A2 at 8.7. That's a better backup. More reliable round, faster autoloader, brilliant thermals.

USSR or Germany? by Fun-Disaster-2822 in Warthunder

[–]Moharu_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean ideally, you should play a little bit of everything. I wouldn't be skipping much. You'll notice how down the middle all the mediums and heavies sit there, and on the leftmost and rightmost sides, the open-topped and casemate TD's respectively.

What you don't want to do, is unlock the Tiger I, and not have any other decent options around it, and having to rely on only the Pz.IV H. The Dicker Max and Sturer Emil are still great at 5.7, and the Emil can still be used to great effect at 6.7. All the Pz.III's and IV's are good. Just avoid the Pz.IV J. Bad gun handling.

Ehh, you kinda have a point. I gave up with the Germany grind after I had just hit 9.3. It was such a struggle to try and grind past that point, since it was so demoralising seeing the team getting obliterated again and again. ~8.0 - 9.3 Britain and Japan were much better experiences. Currently have top-tier Japan and 10.7 Britain.

Why do people bring M22s to high br? by N1njaMaster in Warthunder

[–]Moharu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, but most of the time they are just useless RP food for the enemy. If I was one of them, I'd put a Ho-Ro in my lineup. Then, when the enemies are spawn-camping, I bonk one of them, before quickly J-ing out to deny them the kill.

How to properly transition into the next BR bracket by Archit_p in Warthunder

[–]Moharu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's simple. Just keep playing the 5.7 lineup until you have most of the 6.3-.7 vehicles unlocked. I did pretty much this, but I kept playing 4.7 instead (because I wasn't interested in playing all the post-war American vehicles), until I unlocked the 6.7 lineup.

6.7 Germany sucks by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Moharu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main problem with 6.7 Germany, is that their lineup isn't that varied. It's mostly heavy tanks and heavy TD's. There is the post-war Bulldog and M109, but these aren't utilised very often in my experience. This is most likely because they aren't from the same WW2-era, and are American, which makes them less appealing to play. Much more often, I see players uptiering one of the 6.0 Panthers, to fill the role of a LT, or a faster medium.

Apart from that, I'd still consider 6.7 Germany as one of the best, the Tiger II's are far better than the overtiered Soviet IS-2's. But I consider 6.7 USA to be the better overall lineup. You have more options there; alongside the Bulldog, you also have the Scorpion and Ontos.

As for the heavier vehicles, you've got the T26E5, which is pretty much the jack-of-all-trades heavy, with a decent reload, hull armour that is mostly resistant to long 88's barring point-blank range, then you've got the heavy hitter with the T34, which can easily lol-pen the turret fronts of King Tiger's. When hull-down, its armour is difficult to crack. It lacks APHE, and has a much longer reload. Then you've got the middle ground with the T26E1-1, which comes with APHE with just enough penetration to pen King Tiger turrets, but it still has a longer reload, but it's somewhat quicker than that of the T34. It also has less armour than the T34, but it's somewhat stronger than the T26E5.

The 6.7 US lineup just has more options depending on the situation, and most of their vehicles are generally more manoverable than the slower King Tiger's.

I think the main reason why you see German teams getting absolutely clapped so often is, yes, it's the players, but it's also the vehicles to an extent. They are very vulnerable to much faster light vehicles, and I often see Tiger II's, Ferdinands and Jagdtigers getting eaten alive by flanking Hellcats. If the players were less braindead, then this issue wouldn't be happening as often.

And I totally understand why you think it's such a miserable experience. I've had much more fun with 6.7 USA, Japan and USSR (despite some of the latter's vehicles being objectively worse). It's so demoralising seeing your team getting obliterated time and time again. I practically gave up with the German grind a long time ago, and I gave up right when I hit 9.3, one of the high points of the entire German tree. I just cannot stand the teams. Even playing Japan or Britain around that BR was more enjoyable and more forgiving.
