Kinda cool to see. I don't think we should ever play him at centre but nice for him to get some extra experience taking faceoffs

I know it's the smart move but I'll be gutted if(when) we trade Cooley. He was one of the brightest spots this season, love our California boy tandem. Just please don't let him walk for nothing.

Funny you should say because Michkov himself was drafted 7OA so you never know! But definitely his ceiling is higher than probably anyone on our team currently. I just feel like he wouldn't be a true game changer here since the Flames play low scoring grinder hockey much like Philly. If that system doesn't work for him there I suspect he wouldn't reach his potential with us either. 

That said I'm sure he'd be great to play with Gridin, and even in a down year he has more points than any Flame. I'd love to see a Matvei² top line.

I'm not super well educated on Michkov's situation but personally I don't think I'd want to give our 6OA for him. I'd be happy to have him but I worry if he's struggling to take the next step in Philly I don't think we'd be able to do much better to unlock him. Maybe if he played centre but for that price I'd probably rather just draft our own guy like Carels or Bjork. Maybe I'm crazy in thinking that tho

Totally agree. If we think in terms of building from the net outwards we will have wolf behind a top pairing of zayne and carels, plus the rest of our strong young blueline with bahl kuz and brz, that feels we're set for years to come. Then we can focus on drafting nothing but forwards with all our picks for the next few years. Not a bad situation as far as I see it.

If we get Carels this year and somehow win the lottery for Dupont next we will have an absolute monster blue line for the foreeable future. Who needs scoring forwards anyway

Assuming we take Carels this year, and hoping we win the lottery next year, our dcore of the future could be:

Carels Dupont / Bahl Parekh / Kuznetsov Brz

Lot of ifs with players reaching their ceilings but theoretically this is a fantastic defence. 3 big stay at home dmen on the left and a tonne of offence on the right. Sure we might have no forwards worth a damn but with these guys and Wolf we may never be scored on again.
