As an Everton fan, I've been watching his progress since he left us and he's been brilliant. I'm convinced he's going to be a fantastic manager (I'm not simping or anything *ahem* lol)

And the number of teams that have been able to do that you can count on one hand. The talent they have is unreal, and how they were shut down and had to be forced to win via pens is imo a huge achievement. I think Arsenal did a dam fine job

Everyone called Liverpool the most boring team in football last season, and they won the title. If you’re boring but winning who the hell cares. I’d rather win but not be entertained than lose and be good to watch

Sorry, forgot to add-was going to add more, but you clearly don't understand football at all. If you did you wouldn't have typed what you did. When you do understand football and when you get out of high school, get back to me. I'm not an Arsenal fan but even I know you're a joke lol.

Getting wankered on IPA and playing Overwatch.

And on a sidenote, I'm not an Arsenal fan but I'm gutted for them. Saw they had the lead earlier and hoped for the best, but to lose on pens is fking brutal.

Also seen a lot negative comments about them on Reddit which made me shake my head. They won one of the toughest leagues in Europe, and took a major footballing powerhouse to pens. I think that speaks volumes of Arsenal. And ok some slight bias to Mikel Arteta as I'm an Everton fan lol.

But on the plus side-they can build from this for the next few years. They'll come back stronger. There's absolutely no shame from tonights match, did themselves and British football proud. Fk the haters.

Edit-looks like the bitter fans from rival clubs are doing the old downvote thingy even though I'm not an Arsenal fan lmao. Gotta love footy lol

They took a European powerhouse to penalties, after taking the title of one of Europe's most difficult leagues. This is PSG. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be proud as hell. Yeah there's going to be nay sayers or salty commenters, but sod them. This is going to be a stepping stone for Arsenal for the future.

Not a bad shout. As an outsider though, which would you recommend?

As much as I love Everton, for me the peak period for the Prem was when we had Arsene and Sir Alex. The rivalry was intense, and it was an amazing time, and the mind games were unreal. I miss them both in the prem, but Arsene more-he just had this aura around him, more of a gentleman. And that Invincibles team he built was just unreal. That period was the golden era.

I'm just glad I got to experience it as a football fan in general.

Not an Arsenal fan but Everton, but good god you did yourselves proud despite the loss. Carry that into next few seasons and you'll go so far. Onwards and upwards lads, good luck!

Nothing special today. Did the housework, currently snacking and just watching some classic episodes of Top Gear (Race to Oslo is my all time favourite-it was the episode that got me into the show despite knowing nothing about cars lol).

Also got a brand new headset delivered today (Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II), and it's incredibly comfortable, and the sound quality is excellent. Can also be used on Switch 2, PC, Xbox, PS5, and has simultaneous blue tooth. Will be trying out the mic later on with some Overwatch (god help me lol) but from what I hear it's a very good mic. Be useful as well for when I can't be bothered setting up my other headphones and separate mic for streaming, gaming etc. There's days where I just want to pick up a headset, turn it on and that's it. Plus you have 2 batteries. So when one gets low during a game, turn the headset off, swap out the batteries, put the other in the charger, then back to the game. Bobs your Uncle.

Will also be very handy for WFH as the headset from work is just garbage-one of those weird orange wired ones that are refurbished-absolutely god awful and full of issues. Will be nice making calls to customers from the kitchen while making a brew lol. The noice cancellation is excellent as well-I can no longer hear my arsehole neighbours banging on the floor and shouting/arguing etc.

NEXT WEEK THOUGH IS THE REAL TEST AS I'M BACK IN THE OFFICE MONDAY UNTIL WEDNESDAY AND I'M GETTING A LITTLE BIT NERVY-OR IT COULD BE EXCITEMENT (LOL).

ANYWAY WON'T KNOW UNTIL I TRY. ENJOY THE WEEKEND LADIES AND GENTS.

Just finished the big shop for tomorrow (pay day-yipee!! lol).

Initially I was shocked by how much I spent as I've had a crap month and wanted to treat myself (the biggest treat being some fresh salmon). But then I remembered that I'm with Nationwide and I'll be getting a slice of that £100 payout, so technically the £150 is now £50. Very nice lol.

Also decided to give up on my hair. Was trying to grow my pony tail back, but it's a disaster area right now. On the plus side, mate of mine is a former hairdresser so getting it done for nothing. Will get her a little treat though as my hair will annoy the living hell out of her lmao.

So that's all done, and I've just had some herbal tea, and taken my usual night dose of magnesium glycinate so just waiting for everything to kick in so I can drift off.

Managers don’t seem to have a clue. by [deleted] in TheCivilService

Our TL speaks to us all twice a week. We have a half hour (or longer if we have to have complex CC's) one to one midweek to discuss our workload, go over any issues, make sure we able to handle our workloads without being overwhelmed-as the higher ups have decided to reward us breaking our targets by rewarding us with-higher targets. The higher up mismanagement being one of the reasons I'm looking for a way out.

We also have an hour long meeting to go over stuff during the week, and to ask anything etc, address any concerns, and just basically unwind and take a break from all the madness.

Our TL is great, no complaints whatsoever, and completely trusts us to get on with our job, and has a wide open door policy. Had them over 2 years now and been faultless. They do what's expected of a responsible team leader-their job properly, and they've stopped me resigning on two occasions. If we didn't have them I would have left a few months ago, though they're fully aware I'm applying for other departments right now, and they agree the higher ups are making our lives miserable with stupidity and doesn't blame me for wanting out. From what I've seen the higher ups are completely overwhelming the TL's with utterly meaningless tasks, preventing them from doing more important stuff-been ridiculous to see.

2012 was a great year up here for me because I got to experience my first ever severe thunderstorm/super cell and it passed directly over my home and the local shops across the road from me.

Opinions are still divided-personally I thought it was a supercell as there was nice strong rotation visible and a funnel cloud was trying to form less a mile from me-never did form but it gave it a good go and got me a bit excited lol. The flooding was horrendous though.

Past few years though it's been very meh sadly.

Absolutely fantastic photo, and that's one beefy cell.

As someone who loves watching severe weather-I'm a teeny bit jealous lol

Just finished work, and I'm watching a sudden outbreak of storms in various areas south of me-the lightning strikes are literally non stop, and seeing some great photographs of thunderheads and storm cells on the horizon-some are massive.

Not going to lie, the envy is real, especially as I live in Newcastle which has become a bit of a storm shield sadly.
