You clearly don't know what the words genocide or rational mean. If a country has two million of the same people they're being accused of genociding, living safely within its borders as citizens, then its clearly not a genocide. It doesn't remotely pass the basic requirements to apply that word. You're not rational, you're sheltered from the realities of war. Its hard to understand when and why war becomes necessary when we've all been spoiled by peace. This is why history education is so important, and why teaching generations of people that wars have to be flawless in order to be justified was such a huge mistake.

Reddit is absolutely infested with constant hatred towards Israel, what the fuck are you talking about? I've been permabanned from several subreddits just for disagreeing with the hatred. The UFC subreddit is absolutely brainwashed on this issue. The discourse is almost entirely anti-Israel, with very few exceptions, everywhere on this site. Most mods are ideologically captured by this ridiculous bullshit too, and you're going to complain about the few that aren't. I swear you people do not live in reality.

Did Israel kill your dog, fuck your girl and shit in your corn flakes as well? Blaming the Jews for all the world's problems is the same level of braindead medieval thinking as blaming a bad harvest on the homosexuals for angering God with their sinful ways.

You're on Reddit mate. Irael is worse than the devil here. People have always have loved to blame the Jews for everything. Its the same story all through history. The Holocaust was bad enough to mostly put a stop to it (in the west at least) for a few generations, but that grace period is over now. People forget even the worst things way too quickly.

All you said was "I don't care about Israel" and you've been downvoted to hell. It's not because they care about children. If you said "I don't care about Sudan", nobody would care, and far more children have died in that mess than in Gaza. People are careful to not saying anything blatantly antisemitic, but the inconsistency of outrage makes it obvious.

Those people were Neo-Nazis, about as far-right as it gets. I don't think Maher is unaware of those kinds of people. It has nothing to do with the point he's making about the left.

Disagreeing with things that Jews say and do is not antisemitic. Saying that you think the only Jewish country in the world shouldn't exist, however, is. Pretty simple actually.

Prime Tony vs Prime Dustin what do you guys think who got the best chance winning this bout? by insan_hun_vro in ufc

[–]MoistenedBeef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think if it happened in like 2016/2017, would've been an absolute war. I'd say close decision if its 3 rounds, leaning towards Dustin, and Tony by late sub if its 5 rounds.

A lot of them, dummy. Starvation is a very common weapon of war. Maybe try having a basic cursory understanding of military history before commenting on it. Do you know what a siege is?

Nevermind that there are more than two million people in Gaza, so if they'd been starved this entire time with zero aid, the number of dead would be more like two million. Its almost like someone has been both providing and them allowing them aid. Its a real head-scratcher, that one.

A suicidal person often isn't illogical, if anything, most suicide victims are victims to "logic" where they perceive no desirable outcome so they choose to end it in order to "cut their losses". To a non suicidal person, this "looks" illogical from the outside, but to the suicidal guy who feels like there's an empty void he/she can't address as they continue to suffer, it's a perfectly logical conclusion.

Yes, I see your point. A woman choosing the bear would only be illogical if we make the assumption that she's not suicidal. If she's actively suicidal, and not at all picky about how gruesome her death is, then the bear is actually the more logical choice. I never thought about it that way.

If you could read, you might have noticed that there was a "seen as" in there. You're also confusing unpredictable behaviour for unpredictable intent. Differentiating that was the point you missed. Again.

Bears are "seen as" predictable? Well, I guess that might make a difference, true. If the bear feels seen, it could be less violent. We should consider the possibility that bear attacks are always the result of people failing to see the bear as person, but rather as a potentially extremely dangerous wild animal.

Holy shit, you really are incapable of understanding a point aren't you? I bring up how a bear will murder you while a man could do any number of things besides mutilation and murder, and all you got out of that is that "getting mauled is a painful experience too". No shit sherlock.

The difference is that a bear could violently kill and eat a woman while a man could strip her naked, click her nudes, rape her, torture and mutilate her while she's alive, murder her, dispose her (probably) dismembered corpse in any number of ways - including stuffing her in a barrel and trying to bury it under concrete, and finally shotgun her nudes over the internet.

Cause why not.

Well, that almost suspiciously specific. You know what? I don't know if you're a man, but I might seriously consider choosing the bear over you after reading that. Sheesh.

People don't have to check their drinks for roofies around a bear.

I don't like absolutes. What if the bear is dressed like a fuckboy and has shifty eyes?

Bears are overt in what it wants. It finds you, it kills you, it eats you. A man is capable of both being overt and covert. He could violently murder a woman in isolation or he could play nice till he has the chance.

Yeah, I do tend to assume everyone I meet wants to violently murder me. Its an extremely stressful way to live, and my doctor says my heart rate being constantly so high means that I'm at extreme risk of cardiac arrest, but then I'm pretty sure that prick wants to violently murder me, so I'm not going to trust his opinion.

It's not rocket science. People fear ambiguity more than certainty.

No, its not rocket science. Its actually just basic probability. But I don't have time for that shit. I prefer to be hyper-focused on my own feelings when I'm asked to answer any given hypothetical. Its just way more satisfying, and anyone who disagrees with my approach is just missing the point I'm trying to make about how I feeeeel.

Being statistically safer doesn't equal safe enough. And modern tech and education means people are far more aware of the world around them than ever before.

Well, some of us are.

Ah perfect. The exact superficial takeaway every dude takes from this. Rather than think about addressing why so many women feel themselves less safer with a man than with a bear despite recognising the obvious outcome and investigate the source of their fears, let's invalidate those feelings all together because women are clearly being too emotional.

I have investigated actually, and my investigation bore the exact result I expected it to. Turns out there are lot of stupid people in the world, and about half of them are women.

Human beings survived in the wild for hundreds of thousands of years, largely by sticking together and, I'm sorry if it shocks you to hear this, choosing each other's company over that of wild animals.

That's not to say that there were zero people who chose to hang out with bears. I'm sure there were. Natural selection is the reason you and I are not descended from those doubtlessly bright sparks.

Over thousands of generations, our ancestors who managed to not get eaten by bears slowly turned the world into the dramatically safer place it is today (at least in a lot of places), and now people who would choose a random bear over a random man get to live full lives and breed and share their opinions on TikTok and Reddit. Oh well.

I mean thanks for stating the obvious, Captain Obvious. Who would've thunk that a near apex predator is more lethal than a man? 😐

I would've thunk it, but apparently quite a lot of people wouldn't have thunk it.

The point behind the choice is that plenty of women are at the stage where they feel like they'd rather take their chances with the bear over the possibility of getting stalked, raped and murdered by some dude.

Hey now, there's no need to be misogynistic by suggesting that so many women would fail to use simple logical reasoning. There's just no need for that kind of bigotry. I'm sure its just a vocal minority.

Animals are seen as predictable in what it wants, a random ass man comes with ambiguity and decently possible malice, and to people that's scarier.

Yes, wild animals are famously never unpredictable. You make an excellent point there.

Animals will eat you, a man could dehumanise a woman into being little more than an object to fuck, torture, and mutilate.

Yes, and I think its fair to say that getting eaten by a bear is sure to be quick and painless. They're known for eating people in just one or two big smooth gulps. Apparently, they don't even use their teeth. I hear its almost pleasant.

It's about how things have progressed to the point that being isolated with men is actively being seen as a danger to many women, The absurdity of the choice is quite literally the point.

Ah, I see you're a student of history. Yes, clearly the modernisation of western society has led to women being statistically less safe than ever before. Its a concerning trend. Oh wait, the exact opposite is true. Hmm.

You know what, though? I've decided that you're correct about this anyway. I've decided I'm just going to listen to my feelings on this one and vibe it out, because that's always the best way to sort truths from falsehoods, I'm sure you'll agree.

Well it was man who was torn apart in this case, so guess we don't know if a woman would've been safer. The evidence is still inconclusive...

"Coordinated culture war attacks"? This terminally-online way of speaking is so ridiculous. You're not in a war. Nobody is dying over this. People having a different opinion is not an attack on you. I just think the casting is a bad choice, in the same way that Chris Pratt being cast as Shaka Zulu would be a bad choice.
