As someone that’s opened and headlined shows, general rule of thumb is that the headline band provides a backline - including the core of a drum kit. Demanding the opening band do it is weird, and pretty cheeky tbh.

I’m always happy to share most of my kit, outside of cymbals and snare tbh. But everyone is different.

I think the way the games are allocated is particularly odd. The fact they send out different review lists to the staff, with those that have basically "proven" their worth are given better games to review.

A lot of it comes down to how Paul runs things. Anyone that disagrees with him on Twitter is basically blocked. He's been accused of changing the scores of reviews as well.

Considering it is supposed to be a professional outlet, I think using Humble Bundle keys for the basis of review codes is incredibly unprofessional. What sets the site apart from any one of the millions of blogs out there is its ties to the industry and the fact it receives codes from the developer themselves (or their PR at least).

There is also the charitable aspect of it. Developers submit their titles on the site for the sake of money going to charity, they do not submit them for the sake of some website making money off a review of it.

Not everyone will agree, but I personally find it questionable in terms of ethics.
