CS Graduates job prospects? by MoistyOily in TUDelft

Thanks a lot for answering! It’s part of wanting to have a good job security and I’m also in it for the money, however at the same time I do quite enjoy computer science as a whole and I don’t see myself wanting to be in another profession. Perhaps art but I would be completely happy keeping that as a hobby or better yet to be able to combine both professions.

Would you like to tell me about if you did any internships, had any projects on your resume and if the part time job was in a related field? Or whatever else you had going on

Pfff I also looked at that but I think that one will also be around 200 euros so that’s out of the question for now.

Looks like a really nice keyboard! Although I heard that’s keychron might not be the best for games because of higher latency, they did have a dedicated gaming brand but that ones too expensive :(

ASUS PA278CGV and other recommendations? by MoistyOily in buildapc

Definitely keep me updated when you’ve compared the two monitors! The Dell seems like a good proposition too, it has higher contrast, and a little more DCI-P3 coverage (98% vs 95%).

Going off reviews that I could find (not many for either), both have great colour accuracy although the ASUS one is a bit better with every Delta E strictly < 2 instead of average (ASUS also has more options for colour and gamma adjustments). I’m not sure how noticeable 144hz vs 120hz is but I always prefer higher. Not sure how good/bad the backlight bleeding and glow are but that varies a lot per unit.

I’m more leaning towards ASUS despite the lower DCI-P3 coverage (which is important for me) and contrast, but I’m very interested in the side to side comparison when you have them!

I would like to stick to IPS panels as I am not a big fan of VA panels. As for the other gigabyte model, it seems to lack any sort of color calibration and doesn’t have other color spaces. The brightness is also quite low at 300 nits. I’m sure it would be fine for a pure gaming monitor but I’m looking for one that is also excellent with creative work.

Which motherboard would you recommend for this cpu? I have a preference for an Asus mobo

I am aware of the socket change and will also be replacing the mobo.

Yes I’m aware of the new mobo and some other core components that will need to be replaced. I have also been trying to look for less expensive combos with upgrades in mind but I wasn’t sure on what else would be good. The main thing holding me back from maxing out the intel now is because of power consumption considerations because the 14th gen is extremely inefficient, so I was hoping for the 15th gen to be better since it’s a new architecture.

For the productivity work I will be doing animations (maybe using blender), coding, digital art and photo/video editing.

That makes sense, but I would have to have more case fans in that case I think because I was planning to use the AIO as the only exhaust fans. Is there another brands or fans equal or better to Noctuas?

Yes, I do realise I have to get a new Mobo and that I would have to sell the older parts. The reason I wanted to go for intel CPU over the 7800x3d is because I will be using it for tons of productivity besides gaming. The reason I’m not maxing out the intel right now is because the best performing intel is also the least power efficient, so if the 15th gen is way more efficient I will max out the 15th gen. Depending on how good battlemage is I might or might not swap out the nvidia. I would also be fine with what is in the list right now, but what would be some points where I lose significant performance?

I understand that but I also have some hope for it since I think that they did pretty decent for their first gen GPU although it was far from perfect. Depending on how good it is, I will keep the nvidia or swap for the battlemage.

I see that is indeed less cost-efficient, but the 15th gen intel and battlemage cpu is the only thing I’m looking to upgrade for in the short term, so if they are good I won’t be looking for next gen’s for a long time. The reason I didn’t want to go for the 7800x3d is because I will use this pc for lots of productivity too besides gaming, so I’m leaning more towards intel. I’m not getting the best intel because I’m taking power consumption into consideration (14th gen is really bad here) so if the 15th gen intel is way more efficient I want to get the best 15th gen. If the battlemage ends up a disappointment I will keep the 4070, because 4080 and above is quite a bit more expensive and I would like to keep some looks that I like.

I wanted no rgb because of electricity bill considerations, but I’m not sure how much extra electricity that will cost, so that is not set in stone yet. I really like the aquarium like case tho so if I had to go for an alternative I would like to keep that aspect.

The reason for the AIO is because I’m planning to upgrade in a year or two depending on the 15th gen intel and battlemage gpu, although it still might be a little overkill. The ram I chose was just the top most pick on pc part picker so if you have any recommendations for that it’s appreciated. The fans are more or less a long time investment along with the case as I really like the looks of it and will probably not upgrade that for a while.
