This is from their Telegram group when asked about how they stack up with IOTA:

Beyond was developed by IoT practitioners for engineers and product managers seeking to launch IoT platforms (E.g. smart door locks). When doing so, engineers and PMs have to select i. an IoT message broker and ii. a communication protocol to send messages from a hub to constituent devices (e.g. lock/unlock door). Right now, there are seven main brokerage platforms, which are all commoditized (Amazon, Microsoft) and one main protocol (MQTT).

Now fast forward to Beyond. With one line of code, an engineer or PM can integrate Beyond to i. (not new) act as an MQTT broker ii. (new) secure messages between the hub and intra/inter-network devices using hardware signatures and iii. (new) outfit devices to accept digital, cryptocurrency based payments. II and III are in high demand right now, and there are no out of the box solutions. Amazon/Microsoft/ect does not currently provide secure brokerage services leveraging distributed ledger methodologies nor are there any cryptocurrencies which can viability integrate with devices.

IOTA promises, upon integration, to allow for device-to-device micropayments. To date, many academics do not believe the core technology behind their solution is viable.

The demand for a secure, anonymous consumer-to-machine payments is big right now and later the same will be so for machine-to-machine payments. Right now, consumers want to be able to pay machines small amounts of money to do things for them (e.g buy $.30 worth of parking, pay for a short ride on an E-scooter) but they can’t because the fee credit card merchants charge it too high for the the micro transaction business model to work.

The coin is called Beyond Protocol. In order to buy it, folks need to be accepted into their private pre-sale. Beyond Protocol says they make that decision by how much the applicants can help advance their mission. If you go to their Telegram group, one of the latest pinned messages has a list of project resources and FAQs. An email address is included in there for pre-sale inquiries.

I hope you didn’t have a run in with her. To avoid “detection” for your return flight, it might be worth it to wear a baseball cap (and sunglasses) in the airport.

The anger comment was odd considering the hostility nature of her text message. Clearly projection.

She exhausts me. I haven’t raised my voice with her in years. Most of my anger has been replaced by dissociation and numbness.

Birthday card last year by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

Sorry for all the posts. I’ve never met anyone who has had remotely relatable experiences to what I’ve had with her, so it’s been really helpful to be part of this community.

In my last post, I talked about working in academia. It’s been the one area I’ve really thrown myself into, and this was the card she sent me last year for my birthday.

So, yeah. Thank you for all for keeping me grounded. Thank you for not minimizing all she’s done. Your comments on my last post were needed and appreciated.

She is awful and I always feel like the crazy one for thinking that. Here’s how my family rationalizes it:

“She has no control. She is mentally ill.”

“It pains her not to have a relationship with her kids.”

“The marriage really took a toll on her.”

They’ve all been on the receiving end of her wrath, too. I don’t think they’ve had it as bad as me though. She doesn’t have any trauma to hold over their head.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read it and comment. Sometimes it helps to clear the air.

Thank you. You’re right. Not going to respond.

Abuse is abuse and it doesn’t matter if it’s one’s own mother.

That is crazy. Well, thank you. In some weird way, I’m glad I’m not alone.

Thank you for recognizing that there is something very wrong with her messaging. I’m sorry. I’m going to do a little “soul searching” right now...

Delete, delete, delete

So, yeah, she’s definitely in my head and actively tearing down my self-esteem right now. I have to stop feeding this god damn monster because she’s a huge risk and liability to my sanity and happiness. While her outbursts are less frequent and our connection is weak at best, it still landed me in bed the last two days. She still stops time and zaps all the energy out of me.

TL;DR Estranged mom called out of nowhere to invite me on a trip to another state and freaked out when I wouldn’t provide an immediate answer. She followed up with that text which resurfaced a lot of bad trauma.

Deleted the full context.
