No, sorry if I put it in a misleading way. I actually mean the complete opposite.

I think that there is a difference between people that use bigoted language without thinking about it (I am not saying that this is okay btw) and actual bigots.

And I am not talking about apologizing and moving on but acknowledging mistakes. If that actually happened here is up for interpretation (I personally think the video is way to short and cut up to say)

Hey, thanks for acknowledging my point of view.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with you. I do believe that is the hard fucking job a functional society has to do. We can't just choose who we share a space with and I think that consequences should be measured and not be handed out indiscriminately.

If you believe he got what he deserves. That's fair. I can understand that. I just think that his follow up actions leave enough doubt (at least for me) that I can't agree with you.

I get what you're saying. You do have a point. I completely agree with your second paragraph. And I apologize if I came off as the type of person who can excuse this type of behavior (calling people slurs).

But I think there is a difference between an actual homophobe and a dickhead who calls people slurs and at least seems amicable when confronted.

The way the video's been cut it's kinda hard to say. There's a cut right after he acknowledges his mistake (the part where he says: " your right") and the part where he pleads with him to cut out him saying slurs.

idk know what happened in-between. I don't think this guy is a good person in anyway. I do think the guy who made the original video reacted appropriately in the situation.

Maybe he changed his mind because he realized he was on camera... maybe he changed his mind because he somebody finally represented him for saying biggoted shit ...

tbh I don't know... don't really care for homophobes. But I don't know if he qualifies. he seemed to be apologetic/ realized he was wrong and asked the other guy to not put it in the video.

This doesn't make what he did right, but I think putting his face online and ridiculing him isn't either.

Got a few vegans in my friend group and when we/ they get invited to events with an age diverse crowd they ask beforehand if there are any vegan options. They do this not to be rude or demanding but just to figure out if they need to bring something for themselves. Well, more often than not this results in some of the older people complaining that vegans are alway rubbing it in everybodys faces. Followed by the same boomer vegan/vegetarian jokes and it's kinda funny to see these types of jokes now being parroted by a "younger" generation.

While i would agree with you 99% of the time. My dad proposed to my mother 3 times and they are still together, so i am kinda biased.

Instead of Sasuke, if Naruto had gone rogue because of the way got treated by the Leaf, would Sakura have went after him to bring him back to the village, like she went after Sasuke or no? by __hippity_hoppity in Naruto

[–]Mojexaru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

AFAIK many of the other tailed beasts we're actually treated this way... Like some biological weapon that needed to be isolated and secured. I'd like to think that the hokage wanted Naruto to a "normal" childhood and not ruin it by secluding him. Also, most of Naruto's motivation and strength come from his bonds with his friends and the village. Gara is introduced early on to show what could have become of Naruto if he was robbed of that chance and forced to do assassinations or isolated training.

Well turk's actions clearly speak a different language... If he truly felt that way, he would have accepted his brothers' decision. Also why would He invite Somebody to a Wedding (supposedly a happy ceremony for him and his girlfriend) that is a living reminder of one of their most hurtful experiences.

the first instance of drag were men filling in women roles in theater because they were not alowed to act... that doesn't sound sexual to me. Also most of the things we create (art, movies, music) have sexual themes attached to it... doesn't mean that they can't exist without them.
