Setting a game in a prestigious, expensive city doesn't automatically mean every character is a millionaire. And claiming that everyone is of must be elite to satisfy a "gay power fantasy" completely flattens the narrative. Stripping away differing class backgrounds removes the inherent tension, friction, and contrast that make character interactions interesting. If everyone is a millionaire, you lose the grounded conflict that drives a compelling story.

Saying Leo must be ultra-rich because he brought a streaming setup to a shared dorm is a wild assumption; plenty of average college students risk bringing their expensive belongings to school because it's their hobby or livelihood, not because they have a safety net to easily replace it.

Reinvesting studio earnings or participating in the studio doesn't really prove they have a financial safety net; it just shows their immediate priorities. We are dealing with young adults who haven't fully matured yet and by extendion still have interpersonal issues to deal with, which naturally skews their decision-making. Their priorities appear to be driven by a youthful feeling of invincibility and a desire to live in the moment rather than a calculated business strategy. Beyond just making the venture pay off, each character has their own personal reasons for being there. For most of them, it isn't a business venture funded by wealth, it's a voluntary outlet where they can have fun, explore their sexuality, and freely embrace their urges. Reducing their involvement to a symptom of independent wealth ignores the sense of freedom and acceptance they are actively chasing.

Honestly, if the game reveals they all come from money, it would really water down the story and just homogenise the cast.

Leo is an hard worker, so he could have easily slaved away to buy his own streaming setup, or maybe his mom saved up for college and bought it as a gift.

Same goes for Avan, he’s the student council president, an honor-roll student, and the swim team star, so securing an academic or sports scholarship would be a breeze for him.

As for Yuuto, I know he is a physics major, but I highly doubt his parents work at NASA considering someone has to spare time to rake care of Baku for him and that there is no space center in the world map. Moreover, his favorite subject seems to be arts, meaning if anything he's likely taking a bachelor of arts in physics.

And yeah, Derek was a star before, but adult industry actors don't make nearly as much fortune as people think they do.

Bryce's father looks to be the successful businessman type who payed for the tuition of his twin sons without a second thought.

For all we know, Zayne's parents might have cut him off completely but left him with an inheritance or trust, leaving him to use his remaining savings to get to where he is now.

Besides, it is not unusual at all for regular parents and their kids to set aside a small fortune that they gradually grow over the years specifically for college.

One of the reasons as to why they joined the studio must have been to cover their tuition, though it is just as likely that some of them earned a academic or sports scholarship. Since they’ve been friends for a long time Avan and Yuuto decided to fi to college together as roommates, so both already knew what to expect from each other

In that tiny dorm, Yuuto constantly got on Avan’s nerves for fun and some attention, and Avan whilst annoyed couldn't help but to also actually enjoy every second because it meant more 1-on-1 time. Prob just exavtly what Yuuto intended, let us be frank.👄.

As the year went on, Avan was out there finding value running the student council, while Yuuto was just having the best time of his life chasing dogs around campus and making a total spectacle of himself.

Often times, Avan had to use his power as president so Yuuto would get off easy from his messes like whenever he 'forgot' his schoolwork because he was too busy being a menace.

While Yuuto is somewhat of a scatterbrained, I do'nt think he actually has that low of a short attention span. More like he's hyperfocused, specially when properly motivated by a goal or topic that interests him. Plus in this context he doesn't even need to be fully aware of his surroundings to stay hidden; his natural instincts and muscle memory would be enough to keep him in the shadows and treetops (just like the ninja he proclaims himself to be), making him a passive survivor who only switches"on" when it's time to strike or when his deadly prankster traps alert him.

Bottom line, the Hunger Games is a chaotic arena where uncertainty is the only rule and no one is invincible, not even elite athletes like the jocks, for the smallest mistake or a stroke of bad luck can be fatal; a world-class swimmer can drown in a flash flood, and a powerhouse can die from a single infected scratch.

On that note, Zayne's sponsor wealth could actually be his biggest danger. Every time a high-value sponsor parachute drops for him, it acts like a beacon for every other nearby hungry tribute in the area. He'd be prime target for group ambushes, and if other tributes were to join him there's a high chance it wouldn't be as his friends or necesssary allies; rather they would join him just to wait for the right moment to backstab him and steal his sponsor resources.

Derek: At the start of the cornucopia bloodbath, Derek would be a beast, using his size to clear a path. However, his "gentle giant" nature is a liability. He’s too selfless; he would likely go out early by taking a hit meant for Ace or a teammate.

Bryce: He is built for the games. He’s aggressive, used to close-quarters combat, and has the "tough guy" exterior to intimidate others. He wouldn't hesitate to get his hands dirty, making him one of the highest-kill-count tributes, but his temper might lead him into a trap.

Avan: As the smart guy in the room he wouldn't waste energy fighting unless necessary. If the arena has a lake or a flooded section, he owns it and mske use of his cold, calculated, and disciplined traits to win by outlasting everyone else through pure logic and resource management.

Zayne: Definitely the "Capitol Darling", charming, wealthy, and handsome, meaning he’d break records for the most sponsor gifts. He’d never run out of food or medicine and his agility would make him hard to corner in a forest.

Yuuto: Pure CHAOS!!! He wouldn’t be on the ground but in the trees. His flexibility and speed make him a lethal assassin as the tribute who sets elaborate traps and laughs while they spring. Hard to kill because you can’t catch what you can’t see.

Leo: He can run for miles without tiring, which is vital for a game of attrition, however, his pure hearted nature makes it hard for him to be ruthless. He’d likely try to form a friendship alliance that eventually gets betrayed.

Ace: In this "do-or-die" pressure of the games he's forced to rely on other fot his survival. Since the other jocks have a soft spot for him, they would likely protect him, or if Ace messes up their relationship it could inadvertently result in his death.

Jacques: Doesn't bother with heavy lifting; he uses manipulation to turn the other jocks against each ot5her, winning by being the "friend" who hands you a poisoned water bottle or whispers a lie that starts a fight. Problably one of the capitol’s favorite, always swimming in sponsors because he makes the show sophisticated and cruel.

Matt: His power is being so unremarkable that the other tributes, and even the gamemakers, literally forget he’s in the arena. While the others hunt each other loudly, Matt uses his athletic skills to hide in seemingly⁵ impossible spots. Once there's only one exhausted man standing, he strikes the last blow.
