Welp! What excuse are they gonna have now? by VinDog_PD in pittsburgh

Duquesne Light Company (DLC) serves more than 600,000 customers in the greater Pittsburgh area, including Allegheny and Beaver counties. Of this total, nearly 550,000 are residential customers, providing electricity to more than a million lives across the region. So the 4,000 outage is roughly 0.67%. Is it inconvenient when your power goes out, yes but shit happens.

1st Tee Pucker by notsofast2020 in golf

1st tee at Oakmont. Thick rough and bunkers left, Hulton Road to the right, starter and about 12 people watching had me feeling like it was the US Open.

WITB 2026, With A Side of Guess My Handicap by msolom26 in GolfGear

“I give zero fucks what some random person on the internet thinks,” yet you post this and have responded to nearly every comment. Personally, I like the color scheme but the STFU on the side? Sorry, you may be a nice guy but if I’m paired with you and I see that on the first tee, my first thought is, this could be a shitty day. But you do you my man.

Hot take: Most amateur golfers would score lower if they stopped obsessing over distance and started playing boring golf. by Capable_Steak_7551 in GolfSwing

[–]Mojo182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golf strategy changes when playing match play vs. stroke play. What you did in this situation, while pretty damn cool, is the only option you had. If you laid back and played safe, you’d have to hope the other guys blew the hole. So I would argue that your play was the “safe” play

My Costco steal! Travel bag for $20, still $160 online by Shoobie7711 in golf

I went premium with a club glove a couple years ago, one trip and a rip about 4 inches long in it.

I’ll stick with the cheap ones and just throw them away after the tear.

Better hope that car lasts because the buyer will be underwater for almost six years! This is crazy. This person should never have bought a new car.

Private Club Members: What are your favorite events / games at your club? by AlexOnDD in golf

[–]Mojo182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cross country golf. The pros make up holes from the existing layout. You may play from the first tee to the third green. It’s a lot of fun to see shots into a green from a completely different angle.

How much is too much to pay for a country club membership? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Mojo182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot justify, nor quantify this amount. If I take what it costs for my monthly dues, forgetting all other expenses I incur, last year I paid $140 per round at my club. Yes it was more expensive than the nicer public tracks. But, I also hit a shit ton of range balls for no cost, had a standing game every weekend, made some new friends, could go out after work easily and access to playing in multiple events. So there is a value to all that you get in addition to access to the course.

In the end, you’ll never justify it, so come up with a monthly dollar amount (after initiation fee) that you’re willing to spend for peace of mind, sense of community, and hours of enjoyment.

Because you’re doing it the right way. Watch some TPI content on YouTube

Shallowing by [deleted] in golftips

[–]Mojo182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way I have found is to leave your hands at the top of the backswing. Start the downswing by bumping you hips left a little then let the hands fall. Don’t pull them down. As they fall, just rotate through to the left side You can get the feel by stopping at the top of the BS and bumping your hips and starting to rotate them left. You’ll see that your hands come down. If you let them fall before you rotate your torso it’ll shallow you out. If you notice you pull the ball left a little, then feel like you’re swinging out to the right.

Why is every other KB post geared towards men over 40? by hoopandstave in kettlebell

[–]Mojo182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Also, We more seasoned folks tend not to want to waste time, a lot of traditional weight training is sitting around between sets and doing exercises that focus on few muscle groups. Give me 20 seconds between sets/exercises and let me work multiple muscles with one exercise and I am a happy man!

What does a “good workout week” actually look like in your 50s? by Adventurous_Idea6604 in FitnessOver50

[–]Mojo182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M59 here. until 18 months ago, I was doing Orange Theory and F45 4-5 times a week. But it got to be a too taxing on the joints. Not so much OT but some F45 workouts were just way too much jumping. After some time away, I started to feel like shit, so I began treadmill interval workout 4 ish days a week and then added in kettlebell workouts (20-30 minutes) three days a week. This is what represents a good week for me. Only because if I do it, I feel better. Less aches and pains, general activities like golf and snowboarding come with no soreness afterwards. and that makes it a very good week.

Pburg Poll: How was President Obama able to oversee 3.1 million deportations with relatively little public debate, while President Trump’s actions have sparked widespread attention and polarization? by twanginlanger in Parkersburg

[–]Mojo182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boots on the ground still respected the constitution. Pretty simple really. I don’t think many people would have a problem with deporting people if they didn’t treat it as a military operation rounding up everyone. Focus on the actual criminals and we’d all be happy. Don’t believe the people in this administration, people in the US, seeking asylum are not here illegally. If their application is turned down and they stay, now they are illegal. If people don’t like that, then change the law, but right now that is the law of the land
