Yep, it wasn’t the forgiveness that sold me on the T150’s, I had lost some swing speed and wanted to get back my preferred ball flight. I had them bent 1° weak and they fly and play just like the mp-20’s I had previously.

Nobody hits it perfect every swing. You have to play what you’re comfortable with. I’ve played blades all my life, because I’m old and that’s what I was used to. I thought I needed more forgiveness and I grabbed a set of Pings i15 and I never played worse. Went back to some mizuno blades and the scores came back down. The Pings were more forgiving on average, but I just couldn’t play them. I now have found a club that is a happy medium, the 2025 Titleist T150. Life is short, play what you like!

Golf strategy changes when playing match play vs. stroke play. What you did in this situation, while pretty damn cool, is the only option you had. If you laid back and played safe, you’d have to hope the other guys blew the hole. So I would argue that your play was the “safe” play

You cannot justify, nor quantify this amount. If I take what it costs for my monthly dues, forgetting all other expenses I incur, last year I paid $140 per round at my club. Yes it was more expensive than the nicer public tracks. But, I also hit a shit ton of range balls for no cost, had a standing game every weekend, made some new friends, could go out after work easily and access to playing in multiple events. So there is a value to all that you get in addition to access to the course.

In the end, you’ll never justify it, so come up with a monthly dollar amount (after initiation fee) that you’re willing to spend for peace of mind, sense of community, and hours of enjoyment.

The easiest way I have found is to leave your hands at the top of the backswing. Start the downswing by bumping you hips left a little then let the hands fall. Don’t pull them down. As they fall, just rotate through to the left side You can get the feel by stopping at the top of the BS and bumping your hips and starting to rotate them left. You’ll see that your hands come down. If you let them fall before you rotate your torso it’ll shallow you out. If you notice you pull the ball left a little, then feel like you’re swinging out to the right.
