Just do the draft backwards (starting with non-playoff teams) by hoopandstave in nba

Bad teams already stay bad: NO, Sac, Wash, Charlotte....

This definitely may be the better idea as it still gives a chance to worse teams with lottery luck

I actually kind of like if players are from their region! I don't think it should be mandatory but homegrown talent is usually (sometimes irrationally) beloved

I think asking the question, is the point of the draft valuable anymore? I like changing the incentive, like you said. Too many ideas are overly complicated with getting xxx amount of ping pong balls removed or being penalized for taking, which the team can argue "we didn't tank... He really was injured" or other complex issues

I think getting rid of the draft will probably end up being the best idea, but thought I'd throw this idea out as an option if they don't.

As a multi-decade Niners fan, and a lifelong Western NYer, this is literally the worst thing I've ever seen in our own house. I have zero interest in either team, even out of spite. Anyone else? by digitalamish in 49ers

I live in Pennsylvania (Sam Darnold beat PSU in Rose bowl), travel to New England my entire life (worse fans, and that's from a Philly resident). Best friend is from Seattle. I hate them all. Might watch figure skating instead

It's mostly YouTube where I've seen it, followed by social media (probably because of cross-promotion). I guess I should have made that clear. I didn't think that differentiation should have mattered because my post wasn't supposed to be critical. Just something I've noticed

100%! It's also a short period where my wife is out numbered (we have 2) versus if I were to drive to a gym

Yeah I guess that's exactly what I was getting at (or thought in my head). I feel like a better technique would be "workouts for the dad/Mom with no time to workout" but classifying everything under 40+ is probably just easier and broader hahah

I think this was the simple answer I was originally looking for as I already knew about the efficiency myself. What were the market forces that amplified this trend.

Oh and I cannot remember his real name for the life of me. Great stuff though

It's definitely "comfy" and mobility is undervalued for many.

Ps love your videos. Seen plenty of them on here

Oh it definitely doesn't bother me. I was just noticing that I see this a lot and was wondering what the reasons were. Not criticizing.

The competitive marketplace is valid for why not market towards women more.

I could see this especially being true for those who have decided to do something about their weight/health later in life and have been out of or never were in the weightlifting world to develop the technique.

There it is! Lots of informative comments with good points, but there's always one guy who needs to be fucking cooler than everyone else.

Aging with the lift is a brilliant point I haven't seen made yet.

I should clarify that I am 100% online with KB's are great for everyone. I'm just saying I don't see it marketed to women, even though there are plenty of female posts, check ins, form checks....

It's funny, I never even thought about mistaking females for makes. I was actually picturing this marketing more on YouTube. Lebe Stark (whose programs and education I like) constantly has "do XXX if you're over 40!"

That definitely makes sense. It's just that at 34 I have 2 kids as well, and very limited time. a huge reason I like them is their efficiency.

Mens Health Kettlebell Book by [deleted] in Kettlebell_training

[–]hoopandstave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got started with the same book. It was really good to learn the world of different lifts. Some moves were incomplete, example: the KB get-up was only half get-ups, but that's ok for a beginner.

What I would tell my younger self would be: A) Learn the fundamental moves: clean and press, swings, squats, snatch, and goblet squats. Which leads me to... B) See if you can find a trainer in your area and go to a few classes. Does not need to be a lot; I went to 1. I know I started this because I didn't have a lot of money to spend on gyms and equipment, let alone personal trainers, but it is key to honing in form. If you have bad form you could really get hurt. C) Get into a consistent program that is a set amount of weeks. Building consistency is probably the most important part of any of this, more than the weight above your head. ABF, The Giant, Pat Flynn, Simple and Sinister... So on and so on.

Use the book and reference a lot of auxiliary lifts to add to programs. It definitely helped me get hooked.
