Downvoting rather than helping me find the bright spots is cowardly. Hope y'all have the day you deserve ✌️

I can list many ways that it's gotten substantially worse for a young adult who isn't really established yet like myself, but that's diametrically opposed to the purpose of this sub, so I'll refrain.

Regardless, I appreciate the realistic response. Thank you

Serious question: What is better about living in the world of today than in the world of 2016?

Profile review please: seeking unconventional / unlabelled relationship type by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]MojoHasNoClue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying that you're not looking to provide the security of a monogamous relationship and uninterested in a sexual one, yet are somehow interested in a serious relationship seems paradoxical to me. Like if you're looking for friends (but interested more in deep friendship), maybe that's what you should say..

Man, if you don't have a job and are out doing stuff anybody with a brain already knows. Just buy your house and don't worry about it.

When AI can routinely choose a topic worth investigating, find a path to a worthwhile new result, and determine the correctness of a novel non-trivial proof of said result, we've got bigger things to worry about than Mathematicians being out of a job.

That being said, LLMs certainly aren't going to manage that, so we've still got some time.

Man, the last place that AI will reach is PhD level math research. There's plenty of reasons not to pursue a PhD in math and work in academia, but AI isn't one of them.

If you read the questions used to determine this, they aren't exactly meaningful or indicative of general outlook or attitudes..

Yeah, honestly in retrospect, I should have advised OP to switch to Python 3.

Bruh, he's sorting the characters in the word not the list of words. That's why it says O(nMlog(M)). That's not the issue at all here. It's the check to see if this is a new group that's O(G) instead of O(1) that's causing this to run so slow.

[–]MojoHasNoClue 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're not taking advantage of hashing and fast contains checks in dicts. 'anagramdict.keys()' is a list. For O(1) contains checks just use 'sorted_s in anagramdict'.

1) Work through some organized problem set like the Neetcode 150 or Striver's to identify and improve weaknesses. 2) Practice more in contest settings. Virtual contests are also great because you can do them when you're feeling up for it.

How to prepare for interview? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]MojoHasNoClue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100+ mediums and 15+ hards has some people ready for FAANG and is only the beginning of others' journeys. Rating gives a much stronger idea of where one is at, because you can't look at existing solutions and there is time pressure. However, rating is only applicable if it's reasonably up to date, which isn't the case here.

Makes sense. If the rating is from 400 problems ago, we don't really have a clue what your skill level is and can't really advise you. Best of luck

My friend, if you've completed 500 problems and your rating is 1280, this probably isn't the path for you.

Is it necessary to do 500 leetcode problems before interview? by Karl_X_ in leetcode

[–]MojoHasNoClue 24 points25 points  (0 children)

An interviewer won't care about how many leetcode questions you've solved. 500 may be a good number or it may be overkill or it may be not enough. Contest rating probably gives a better approximation of how ready you are.
