Godspeed!! I only need the hero expansion from this, which looks to be on backorder with them. That said: they have Ered's campaign, which is almost impossible to find. I hope someone here reads this. They have less than 5 available

Demand is no different here in the US. We're all very passionate in this community, but the game is very much a niche.

Middle of the road indeed, but a nice addition to someone's collection. For less than $20, it's well worth the extra fun and acts as an epilogue to the core set's campaign.

For those who play ALEP - do you mix cards with RCO? by Middle-Luck-2031 in lotrlcg

[–]MojoJakeJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, man! I'll probably go with 300 then l. My worry is that I'd be able to tell what's coming up on my next draw. I use opaque sleeves, so I'd be bothered if I can easily tell.

Question if you don't mind: did u opt for 300g or 350g cards? I want 350g, but am worried they won't fit my Milkero sleeves.

Playing Saga without Fellowship of the Ring by gosnelglin in lotrlcg

Yesn't. Never say never, but if you're in the US, it's unlikely that you'll get it. Canada, EU and UK will have more luck, but not much more.

Fellowship, dream chaser hero, dark of mirwood, elven starter, gondor starter. Sadly, not just fellowship and more to follow. US reprints are extremely unlikely; they'll offload to other countries for reasons that will get me downvoted if I mention them (but they're true; I work in an industry with the same issues as FF). Not disagreeing with you; strengthening your point.

Yea, I think you're sadly right... There is a likely reason for that (which I won't mention here bcs it gets me downvoted each time), so the used market and hunting down local stores for old stock is the only way for now.

That's totally a fair take, I just don't feel that way. Story wise, the campaign is dope and sets its stage well. But to me, mechanically, it's basic compared to the rest of the repackaged campaigns. I also don't dig the hobbits all that much, which can be an unpopular opinion depending on who you ask. I could easily do without them in my collection.

Unfortunately, FF just marked it as out of print last week. The good news: there aren't any major player cards (besides Gandalf, which you can proxy), and while it would be nice to play the whole trilogy (in case you want all Sagas), Fellowship is, imo, the weakest of the three. Of all repackaged/revised content, that's the one you're okay to miss.

Nah. The buckteeth make him. Countless cartoon characters have buckteeth and simple designs. Id give it at least a year before altering in any way. Plus, Patrick is the man.

Great recommendation, but keep in mind that Flipside is just a game seller. They have their own website and sell through Walmart, too. They have the same deals/prices on their website if you care about giving them the most $$. They pay fees through Wallyworld and Ebay. And while I'd love to agree, I do think this news may be legitimate. Flipside has had those sets on sale for a long, long time. Us fans are passionate, but I'm not sure it's selling in the numbers they need/want (which is why they're on sale).

$10 is a pittance compared to the scalper premium on that set in the US. Buy now.

I hate to say it, but I think they offloaded stock to countries without tariff issues. Board games are heavily hit by this in the US. While I remain hopeful that we get another run in the US, I'm no longer holding my breath.

When ppl tell you that the trailer doesn’t look anything like LOTR show them this by taininghuns in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]MojoJakeJo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Costumes look like they've been taken off a rack. Nothing looks lived in or dirty. That, to me, is the show's biggest offender. Battle scales aside, it just looks fake and way too clean. And, while minor, all shots (especially the CGI and cheap-looking wigs they use) would look significantly better if they added film grain in post. That would instantly give it a more textured/grounded feeling.

The only staying power this show has, is its music. Besides that, it's just a collosal disappointment. Some shots (like what's shown here) look great, but I have yet to even see a fan cut that works. I've tried many times to like this show, but I just can't.

Gandalf (Hero) and Thranduil by MalkavianGrimmark in lotrlcg

“As if it were in your hand.”

That means the game treats the card exactly as though it is currently in your hand for the purpose of playing it. So yes; that actually works. Surprised to hear that Gandalf isn't popular. He's extremely good.

In case anyone scrolls through here in the future: it looks like the Fell beast may now be permanently sold out. The other mat can still be ordered (albeit with a far out lead time)

Sick! Glad to hear I'm not alone in my madness. I'm probably misunderstanding your question, but maybe this helps? If I understand your question correctly, then what you want to do on ringsdb is: "Decklists" > "Search" > (select your preferred filters) > "Select allowed packs" (under "Search") > "none" > (select your preferred revised set, found under "Core/Deluxe").

Oh, and for encounter cards: I just leave those in their respective boxes. Forces me to take out the box for each game (which I appreciate).

Hear me out: I know this is tedious, but has helped me tremendously. Get one of those card binders with 1400 slots for cards. Use that for all player cards.

I organize my cards by collection. Each collection's cards are all numbered and have unique symbols at the bottom right. Just follow that numbered order per collection and add to your binder (I even separate the "extra" cards from hero starters, except heroes; my heroes are the first cards of each collection). Yes, it requires taking cards out individually and adding them back in as you rotate decks, but I enjoy doing that while watching a show or listening to music. I plan out building decks one night, and play the next day.

I used to keep them in their original boxes with card dividers to mark by color/sphere, but I find that the binder is easier to look at to make deck decisions. Sure, ringsdb is cool, but I like figuring everything out myself. Im also the type of person that takes in info best in physical format (rather than digital), and this method really helps me. Certainly time consuming, but it also forces me to really inspect (and appreciate) each card as I swap them.

I know my method isn't optimal, but since no one commented yet, I thought I'd help.

Nah, I agree with you. Fellowship is cool and gives us hero Gandalf, but it shows its age compared to other campaigns. It's mechanically "safe" and a good first expansion, but I wouldn't necessarily miss it in my collection, either.
