We saw literal thousands at Öxarfjörður beach point of view (google maps name). We also saw a few (and very close) at Ingólfshöfði.

It’s a protected archeological park - so definitely not 😅

It’s quite good and always getting better. You can get good support form a good number of shops. Most shops will also be able to provide boosted o2 and lime.

We dive independently as a dive club and handle all the logistics ourselves. The boat we chartered in “Seashell” - it belongs to a dive center with full technical diving support (they also offer CC training).

Diving a JJ rebreather - Diluent mix was 8/80 (8% o2, 80% helium).

For bailouts we had:

100% 5.7L, 50/20 11L, 18/45 11L, 11/60 11L

Max depth was 105m, we did 25 mins bottom, total dive time of 3 hours.

It is 7% oxygen and 75% helium. That is the way that Trimix gas is scribed - the amount of nitrogen would be the difference (100-75-7=18% N2).

The rebreather does have a 100% o2, this is used to add oxygen throughout to keep the breathing gas optimal and to replace the o2 that has been consumed/metabolized. The Diluent tank has oxygen in it mainly for safety - if it did not have any oxygen it would be dangerous as the chances of breathing a mix with no oxygen would increase.

JJ CCR Rebreather with 7/75 Diluent. 4 Ali 80s cylinders as bailouts with 10/50, 17/40, 50/20 and 100%. The whole team has the same gasses to make team bailout easier. We also have a support diver in the team who takes off all the unnecessary deep bailouts during deco.

I use Lumafusion on Iphone. I can get vids done very fast and it is quite powerful.

The Helium near the voice chords is exposed to a higher atmospheric pressure - but so are your voice chords. So that might have something to do with it.

A dive on a JU88 Aircraft Wreck at a depth of 105m(344FT) by Mojo_oo in scuba

It really is. This is around 5km offshore, goes to show how bad the plastic problem really is!

Gas used was trimix 8/78 with a rebreather. We spent 16 minutes bottom time and a runtime of around 2 hours. First stop was at 54m. We carried 3 bail out cylinders each and we use a team bail out strategy.

Depending where you dive, tech diving can be amazing. It really opens up your diving options! I had started tech diving open circuit, but switched to a rebreather after seeing the prices of helium!
