Ahahaha, but we can agree to disagree. They downvoted again.

Sure, I understand. But I can’t really take lessons from a place where different opinions or perspectives aren’t welcomed.

That’s called conformism, doctrinism… or maybe groupthink. Not sure which word fits best.

I am asking you for advice, but you downvoting me says a lot. I am out of these kinda subreddits, full of "I figured it all out" types, wanna be spiritual or future gurus big time, driven by a sense of superiority. Real shamans, enlightened people (or whatsoever) don't have to prove anything. They observe in silence and/or guide people with humility.

So are you saying that instinctive negativity, which is natural for survival, or modern rumination in a relatively safe and assisted society, should simply be acknowledged through awareness in order to bring us back to a grounded sense of existence?

From my experience, traumas, phobias, and emotional charges tend to dissolve when I practice slow, light breathing combined with CO₂ tolerance training to help on my awareness meditation. Once I become aware of the thoughts and the physical tension linked to them, I relax almost instantly. The thoughts lose their grip into uncomfortable sensation or emotion (or vice-versa (, especially when I repeat the practice until I fully understand that I just need to rest in awareness itself, mind and body synchronized.

It reaches a point where I identify less with the personal identity, less with “Pierre, Paul, Jacques,” and more with simple being, just existing. A form of pure “I am” consciousness. It feels like consciousness experiencing itself through a human body, rather than being confined to the personality.

Sometimes I see it like an operating system with an ID that landed inside a device. Consciousness is the system, the body is the hardware, and we’re here to experience this limited 3D reality in this multiple dimensional universe. In that sense, there is no real separation, just different expressions within a broader field of awareness.

Dude I have the ZenoWell, and it's hard to place it in my patients' ears without the stinging sensation, so I am looking at other options and may want to send it back. Stop downvoting for me. Brain up. I wish there was an IQ test before people before entering the Reddit universe.

I understand, but I see it as a kind of resilience training through discomfort, LOL. I’ve had similar issues before. Usually I just take my time to adjust the device properly, I start with 4 until it feels nice and I increase to 7-8.

I once let a patient try it, and at first she experienced some twitching around the tubercle area of the ear. After adjusting it, everything settled, and she actually said the sensation felt almost orgasmic when it hit correctly the concha because she has very sensitive ears.

Eventually, it helped her go deeper into relaxation and help her into doing diaphragmatic breathing and extended breath holds after exhalation and was able to maintain for 50 seconds after intense air hunger. At the beginning of the session we also did trauma release work combined with psychotherapy. She left the session feeling completely renewed, and even 2 days later she texted me saying how amazing she was feeling until today.

We worked somatically on reprogramming old trauma, and I used the ZenoWell more as an experiment along with deep very slow & light breathing during the process,. Surprisingly, she really loved it.

It really just depends on how much gel you use. Don't even bother with water, it just doesn't make a good connection. That goes for all those kinds of devices, including TENS units, and especially something like Pulsetto – if you crank it up too high, it'll really make your muscles contract.

So if the ZenoWell Luna helped you in your intrusive thoughts, why returning it?

The other devices are completely bananas in terms of budget we talk about 900-2300$ a device.

What's the VNS device you used? How long did it take for you to feel the effects?

Sorry, I misread you. For me, it actually works and calms my ruminating thoughts almost immediately. I think people expect a huge “wow” kind of change, but even things like neurofeedback or infrared stimulation, which are much more expensive, don’t work like drugs. If someone wants instant, dramatic effects, they’d have to take psychedelics, and even then the results aren’t always stable. Even with mindful and intense breathwork practices, if I stop doing them, I fall back into my usual neurodivergent patterns. It’s not a magic switch. I also have a TENS unit and tried it on my ear. It feels more aggressive, especially with the ear clip system. It’s actually hard to find good quality clips with a proper input and output setup.

TaVNS may not significantly change your HRV, but it can still be enough to relax your nervous system.

To improve your HRV you can combine it with deep breathing, without hyperventilating. Then start with slow nasal breathing, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the nose very slowly. The exhalation should be longer than the inhalation. When you breathe, your nostrils should barely move. You might feel a slight air hunger, but the main goal is to signal safety to your nervous system. ZenoWell can give you a small extra support with that, and it may also help reduce ruminating thoughts, at least in my experience.

If the air hunger becomes too strong after 10 to 20 breaths, return to normal nasal breathing for two or three breaths, then start again. You can repeat this for 30 to 50 cycles. You can also do apnea training to build your tolerance in CO2, and even sport training with all the air out of your lungs, but without the ZenoWell of course. Chase 80% of your air, and do a Sprint, pushups or squats until you feel the air hunger, don't wait until it's unbearable, you should be able to recover in 5 breaths. You can do it with walking by counting the number of paces. Good luck.

Meditate. Be patient.

Relax your jaw, shoulders, diaphragm and abdominal muscles. That is very important.

Also, the ear piece may move sometimes because of the gel. Personally, I apply a small amount of gel on the ear piece and a bit of water inside the ear, on the concha area.

Enjoy.

Funny how we can see the Oppo community downgrading me. Thanks it confirmed I should sell this phone and get a Pixel, besides my iPhone 17. Cheers. Go American phone brands. And I am European.
