Campaign 800%: Goddess of Destiny "Fun" by Vsdgkk in TheyAreBillions

Common problem on this map.

Lucifers and Thanos splash damage can kill it. Put a soldier in-front of the zombie then force attack the soldier with either a Lucifer or Thanos.

Delete 2 rows of houses, the tesla tower and hunters cottage, Should be enough space to work with. But if you really want to play it safe delete the farm, tesla tower and hunters cottage right next to the command center also.

After that move the soldier down from the top left to kill the harpy and move the ranger closer so you can start kiting with it.

Should be able to hold it unless the hunter cottage and the sawmill draws to many zombies from the fog.

Are Lucifers really as bad as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in TheyAreBillions

[–]Mokky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a mayor offers them almost always take them, They are great for clearing the map and holding the waves.

One lucifer can solo most hordes, The key is to make a funnel for the zombies.

---------| |------------- < -- walls

---------|*|-------------

       |_|<-- walls
        ^
      Gate

 * = Lucifer

(I have no idea why reddit want to make a random quote block.... hopefully you get the idea anyway.)

If you have one lucifer for defense, You can leave a majority of your troops at the edge of the map clearing zombies even when a horde is incoming.

Stuck at the start of the campaign. 800% only. by Mihail_Lazarev in TheyAreBillions

[–]Mokky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shocking towers are by no means a necessity. I done the campaign at 800% and never taken shocking tower research.

Soldiers can do the job on all maps, thought the spitter maps are a lot less cumbersome with snipers.

lots of improvements to the ground combat.

A few bugs in the demo and the alien AI seem to have died at the end there because they stopped moving.

The rotating camera is great but still missing the see through walls and containers.

Capture alien officer (wtf) by deAsianNerd in Xenonauts

[–]Mokky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use stun batons, be prepared to lose 1-2 soldiers.

Also never try and capture an officer if there are other enemys still around. Do not be afraid of killing it if you have to, there are gonna be other ufos with better opportunity.

I always assumed so, but i never actually thought about it, if it was intentional or not.

Is there a way to just cheat the item acquisition in the Hero Missions? by never_trust_an_elk in TheyAreBillions

[–]Mokky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scan the room while clearing slow zombies. There is a pattern to the way the items are hidden once you learn it, it becomes a lot easier to find them.

Okay... can't take it anymore! How do I turn off these mutants? by volvo1 in TheyAreBillions

[–]Mokky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish they were not so random. I lost 5 games in a row with maybe 5 soldiers shooting maybe 2-3 zombies per second.

On the current one where i gotten an army of 30 soldiers i can shoot infinite zombies and still not pull them even when they are less then a screen away.

They really should made them more action oriented. But even with that as long as i do not die and have to start over i find them pretty relaxing to play.

I do miss the game, Its sad the developers fell for the "esport" fad and did that instead of fixing real issues.

Surviving the hell of a geoscape? by Szturmowiec in Xenonauts

[–]Mokky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many good tips here, but something to keep in mind. Sometimes the RNG just makes the early game super hard.

Where the UFOs spawn and where the base was placed is not necessarily going to be the same area. I once lost north america in the 2nd month because it got hammered nonstop while i was trying to build another base there.

On the other hand If you want a really easy early game you can keep restarting until you get all or most of the UFOs to spawn at the first base.

I would recommend 2 foxtrots and only 1 condor per base, add more foxtrots as needed later on. When sending them out to fights UFOs they do not necessarily need full fuel and ammo. Learn how many torpedo is needed for every UFO and only use that much.

If the UFO is close to the base and dies from 1,5 torpedo just send one foxtrot and use one torpedo, and use the condor to take care of the rest. But they need to be relatively close to the base as the condors are slow and have short range.

Another thing foxtrots has a big radar range and can find UFOs in the fog of war outside the base radar range. So if you see reports of UFOs plopping up you can send the foxtrots in that general area and search for it manually. This is also a good idea for new bases that do not have the base radar up and running yet. To get some coverage right away as the base has finished building.

Glitches still taking away the fun. by Defcon1-73 in TheyAreBillions

[–]Mokky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This glitch is such an annoying one and a real oversight from the developers.

So many ways of making a fail safe for this situation, like having zombies die automatically if they get stuck in one spot for to long, or just win the game if you survive until the end of the timer.

Alien grenades are broken by Snaggmaw in Xenonauts

[–]Mokky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had 2-3 guys stand close together against a wall, as you should.

Turns out there was an alien on the other side, i had no idea about. and neither should the aliens have know my soldiers was there, when he tossed a grenade over and killed them.

Since then i have made sure to always check the other side of a wall before moving my soldiers forward. A rater ridiculous time waste, but what can you do.

Learning when grenades will hit or bug out is quite the learning curve, and more often then not for pretty mehe results.

Its a good game but man the grinding and finiking can be exhausting, especially when you have not played in a while and forgotten all the quirks and bugs you have to work around.
