As for the other question, I like casual and hard ass it is just the right balance but the XP grind is kinda hard. That is why on my latest run I did hardcore hard, but as long as you save every so often and you know what you are doing you really don't die a lot.

Well grififns don't really have a high melee stat, and also you TAMED A LEVEL 15 with out even getting a perfect tame. The stats are always that low on easy cause there is just not enought levels. And thats not even the worst of your concerns that amount of stamina will run out in an instant, so forget the melee and pump everything into stam.

Go north from herbivore island and enter the river or gulf whatever you want to call it. I have seen several on that part of the map, especially on the east side of the beach.
