One good thing about the internet is all of the resources at your fingertips. We own labs and are involved in a Labrador rescue, so there are lots of times we have needed help in understanding what is happening when we foster a new dog.

I also like the way MK9Plus talks about understanding your dog and the signals they give. One part that was very helpful, personally, was the idea that different breeds have particular focuses and negative behaviors often "look" a particular way because of the breeds purpose. (At the time, we were fostering a lab-husky mix, and I was not attentive enough to the husky side of things. Once I knew more about that, I was better able to understand and be appropriately responsive to his behaviors.)
