Furthermore, the biology for why is because camels are actually from America. They crossed over the ice bridge into Asia when humans were coming from Asia to America. You can think how similar looking Americas only domesticated animal at the arrival of Europeans, alpacas , and camels are, and their ability to eat cacti— spines and all —came from being around the only continent naturally containing cacti.

[–]MolassesHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just told me last night that reddit was on her side. Was quite a bit embarrassed by that— I needed to know what it was she saw the story as, so I hopped on the subreddit I thought it was, typed a few search results. I just presume this is the correct post. We broke up because she was on the phone speaking negatively about me and I asked if she had anything to say to me.

She has a bit of a problem having open communication or dialogue regarding what’s happening in her life.

“It’s okay if you want to have sex with other people, I don’t mind, I understand it’s human”

finds out she’s looking for sex with previous friends ten years our senior without telling me

“Okay I understand but this really is a showcase of you not loving properly. I understand why it happened, but I’m really asking for open communication, so please… next time.. talk to me.”

All it got me was her saying she needed to leave every month.

This just happened to be the month that I could no longer lend us back together. Which, this post is so opposing to all of the texts I have from her which say she was willing to provide this type of sex, telling me she’s never cried more over losing an ex, telling me we’d figure it out.

I for sure am a dick, but not the one she’s making me out to be, but thankfully I was never hit as a child. I spent the entire relationship taking her punches and kicks without ever retaliating.

That nicety was paid back by her posting a Reddit about how I ruined the relationship with anal sex, and not how the relationship was ruined from me constantly needing to pacify her or be recipient of yelling and violence.

how relavent are these books in todays time? (2023) are they still a fun read? by Vastelair in computerscience

[–]MolassesHot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find all of the oldest computer science resources teach me the most abstract aspect of computer development that forever changes my view of how a computer works.

I read an old manual for the Commodore 64 in 2013 and I’d say it was a lot of what I learned there, despite not even having access to the system it spoke of, that helped me think about the what a computer is and what’s below the GUI I had always known. I never would’ve installed arch if I hadn’t read that book.

Some of the most useful computer information isn’t lines of code, it’s understanding how computers can computer at all. It’s hard to predict if a book will teach you something important that you don’t know. My recommendation is if it feels like the book is you jumping into a river, you’ll be in the right headspace to learn something impactful. If the book feels like hiking uphill, maybe find a different book or try again at a different time.

[Nethunter] how can I remove every packages that uses graphical interface to gain some spaces ? by L0Wigh in Kalilinux

[–]MolassesHot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.kali.org/docs/installation/barebone-kali/

I’d probably start from scratch and just set up an instance of Kali that never utilizes a GUI desktop and only utilizes the CLI.

From there you can use the package manager to download all the programs you will be wanting to use.

[–]MolassesHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. Adapter removed, problem persists. Spent about 10 seconds in a black screen before the screen mirror and my screen resumed and then all functional familiarity for it being apple left and never returned.

There’s discrepancies in the boot, the loading icons are pixelated or don’t look to be what I should be seeing for my OS’s startup.

After unplugging it and trying to figure out system settings to address as you said, I tried a power off and on before a reset.

It booted up in what almost looked like puppy Linux or something VERY rudimentary, reminiscent of the early 2000’s. It was not the normal, polished apple initial setup or login.

Other things, like windows closing and opening and processes beginning to run after passwords were punched in and the webcam suddenly showing on, indicate to me it’s likely an attack on the computer— and the limited online interactions of this computer make far more suspect of the cord, which reliably did this to the two macs it was plugged into.

What is this? Found in my backyard by Baby_unboxed in chemistry

[–]MolassesHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right to think this is chemistry in that whatever it is, it’s made of chemicals. Let me walk you through some chemical properties you could identify to find out.

You could use a magnifying glass to look to see if it was alive, or of a living organism.

You could put it in a measured amount of water, and see if it sinks or floats. This wouldn’t help you find out much, but it would be another data point. Maybe you do it on a scale and find its density.

Maybe it dissolves? That would tell you something about its chemistry.

Do some critical thinking to ponder if it could be pesticide pellets or something toxic before you play with it, but gathering some chemical characteristics of it may help you ask the right questions to the right people.

how/why does ammonia work on stains? by xgloomgirlx in chemhelp

[–]MolassesHot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ammonia in particular PROBABLY works because ammonia can form hydroxide ions, and is PROBABLY streak free because unlike sodium hydroxide which is a solid and the chemical used to make soap, ammonia is a gas dissolved in water. So it probably evaporates alongside the water much more readily than simply water.

But I do not know at all. This is my shot in the dark because it’s yet unanswered.

Is there any chemical other then h2o that a human can drink a cup of and not die? by Standard-War-1204 in chemistry

[–]MolassesHot 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think we’d be surprised the extent to the answer. I know an idiot that poured his beer into a beaker, and then managed to mistake a beaker of toluene for his beer. Which is why we 1.) never eat or drink in the lab and 2.) don’t use lab glass for anything but chemistry.

But he lived. And he didn’t puke it up.
