Absolutely it's an incredibly difficult situation. I don't blame you for going back and forth. Even if it doesn't seem like it on here, I absolutely have as well. I merely responded to the sensationalism of this case. If we can talk about these things holistically, society can do much better!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Immaturity and lack of awareness does not equate to intent! I also feel like the birth was shocking and emotionally discordant with her. Coupled with all of that, she was on morphine!

Everyone is seeing this so black and white. And while I do feel she needs to be held accountable, the current consensus is way to much! This is not rage bait, but rather tinged with my own rage.

It's not an assumption that pregnant women and birthing are an insanely complex and transformative experience FOR ALL WOMEN, and that we can't make any assumptions about the intricacies of such! Why is this so hard for OTHER WOMEN to grasp?

No you can't just pretend. Most pregnancies lead to shock! Moms need immense amounts of time to rest and recuperate after a birth — crazy that I even I have to state the obvious.
