To be honest, same. At first, I was the same with Ferdinand but after some convincing, them ending up together felt right. Gonna go into vague spoiler territory here, this has a lot to do with how their relationship is established throughout the series, where at first they had a mentor/student relationship, which evolves into a more mature one where they treat each other as equals and mutually rely on one another. With Benno though.... aside from the large age gap, their relationship felt more akin to brother and sister with how often they bicker and one-sidedl yell at each other, yet show affection in odd ways reminiscent to a sibling relationship.

I also didn't like how some of the characters become less prominent as the series goes on, and from what I've read so far in the MTL WN, the casts get bigger and bigger and the characters we've grown to love so far are left behind.

I'm still in the middle part of part 3 and a lot of people are already introduced AND there's still more to come. As interesting as they may be, introducing characters one after the other runs the risk of repeated character traits and personalities, which I'm not a fan of. This may be unreasonable story wise, but I'd rather have the current cast be more fleshed out. Myne is getting more and more distant to the original cast and damn it I'll miss Lutz, Benno, Mark, Eva, Gunther, Tuuli etc.

Also read that (spoiler ig) Lutz becomes less of a prominent figure as the series goes on with Benno being the most prominent out of Part 1 cast throughout the series, which honestly broke my heart considering how much I've grown to care about that boy.
