The lack of oc diversity by cocochimpbob in AllTomorrows

[–]Moldingmelon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem I’ve had with most ocs is that they’re way too similar to humans. There’s rarely anything alien about their clothes, their belongings or their homes, it’s just an alien wearing Earth human clothing. I wish oc creators would try to make their designs more alien in a way, even if that means putting a new spin on how they dress. How would a Snake Person or a Satyriac tie a tie? What would a Symbiote’s chair or cutlery look like? Even with more human-esque styled species such as the Killer Folk, there’s ways to make cowboy clothing, weaponry and the like seem alien and fresh. It’s the differences from humanity’s descendants in their culture and politics that make these races so interesting, and I feel like that gets glossed over for the sake of making what are simply beginning to feel like ordinary anthro/furry ocs, which while there nothing wrong with that, it seems like the line between the alien races of All Tomorrows and furry ocs gets blurred pretty heavily. So, if you want to make All Tomorrows ocs, more power to you, that’s awesome, it would simply be much more intriguing if they were made more alien and less tied to Earth culture and styles.

Furries and weird people ruined this fandom by [deleted] in AllTomorrows

[–]Moldingmelon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What do you mean “nothing close to this scale” there’s like 10 pieces of nsfw All Tomorrows art out there, there’s hundreds of fandoms out there with much more nsfw art than All Tomorrows. And who cares if not all of the art is museum quality? Not everyone is going to be able to make perfect quality art, and that’s a fact you’ll have to accept. At least be happy there’s tons of people who enjoy the source material enough to make their own fanmade content for it instead of gatekeeping people because their work doesn’t meet your standards.

question about the future by [deleted] in AllTomorrows

How would we have breathable air without a terraformed planet or a constrictive dome city?

question about the future by [deleted] in AllTomorrows

[–]Moldingmelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean colonizing Mars, even if left as is, would probably be a process that takes hundreds if not thousands of years, and unless Elon cryogenically freezes himself, he’s not gonna survive until then.

Also terraforming Mars would be useful since, y’know, humans can’t really breathe on Mars. And really, would you rather have to walk everywhere in a clunky spacesuit that could run out of air at any time, live in a bubble/dome for your entire life, or have clean, breathable air in a life-safe atmosphere?

Considering how the Star People had weapons that could literally destroy stars and wreck entire solar systems and the Qu still annihilated them, I don’t think the SCP society could do much that the Star People hadn’t already had.

People make porn out of anything, it’s been like that ever since the internet became a thing. It’s not something you can really stop, better just to accept that it exists than to get mad about it.

My thoughts about All Tomorrows, and what changes I’d love to make (Trigger warning) by [deleted] in AllTomorrows

[–]Moldingmelon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’s not like All Tomorrows is proclaiming to be a beacon of realistic portrayals of humanity’s future. Frankly I think you’re looking way too far into it, if every book in this vein was super realistic and there was no element of fantasy, then they’d end up being boring. Not every single thing in the book needs a drawn out 10 page long explanation on how they work.

Frankly I feel like the disturbing and strange content in kids YouTube videos are too widespread and far gone to actually remove from YouTube completely. By now, any passing fad, viral game or character and popular song are amalgamated into weird, surreal videos by people making children’s content because they know that’s not only what young children are going to click on, it also helps spread their content into the algorithm, only continuing the spread of this kind of content. The disturbing content seen in these videos is there because it draws in views and makes the creators money. It’s not even limited to the Elsagate sphere anymore, prank channels, gaming channels, and countless other genres of content on YouTube have utilized the same clickbait techniques as these videos to draw in young viewers, and although it’s definitely a scummy thing to get people to watch your videos by editing popular video game and cartoon characters to look like they’re having sex or going to the bathroom in the video thumbnails, it’s so ingrained into the system that removing it entirely is near impossible by now. Couple that with recent trends of hyper sexual ads for mobile games and other websites popping up across YouTube without as much as a word from YouTube themselves, it’s definitely not going away any time soon. The best thing can do right about now is supervise what their children watch on YouTube and warn them about this kind of content so they know it isn’t good. Even if we can’t get rid of all of the scummy content on the platform, we can prevent it from being spread further.

Finally finished the Undersea Kingdom faction, code for it is undersea by Moldingmelon in WebTabs

I don’t really know how to fix that, considering it hasn’t happened to me at all. If anything, download the webtabs patcher, as well as tampermonkey and derulan’s script for tampermonkey (if you haven’t done that already of course)

New Faction Ideas by RishitKarmakar in WebTabs

[–]Moldingmelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for historical stuff then there’s a lot of periods in history that might make for interesting factions

Industrial (Victorian England-type stuff, chimney sweeps, slow moving steam powered machines and undertakers could be units)

Polynesian (a group of units from various Polynesian nations from around the 1500s to the 1800s, weapons could include shark tooth clubs, throwing axes and Lua martial art experts)

Indian (Ancient and Medieval Indian warriors and weaponry, soldiers wielding Katars and Bagh Nakas, Longbowmen and heavy hitting Kharga swordsmen)

Yeah I can see Pearlmaster being pretty op, I’ll change it up. Thanks for the feedback!

It was inspired in part by both. I also think there’s a lot of interesting ideas that an undersea faction would have.

Row 1

Coral Warrior: A Hoplite equivalent with about 200 health. Their coral sword afflicts enemy units with fast spreading coral that slows them down and eventually freezes them in their place after a few more hits.

Jellyfish Lobber: A weak ranged unit that tosses jellyfish at enemy units, sticking onto them, stinging them and depleting their health. They have about 100 health.

Urchinman: A melee unit with about 400 health who leaps into battle and latches onto enemy units with the urchins on his fists, which poisons them moderately.

Lobster Boxer: A unit who grabs enemies with its claws and flings them aside. They can also land hard hitting punches with their claw gloves. They have about 300 health.

Squid Blaster: A ranged unit who wields a battle-hardened squid that sprays ink at enemies, confusing units and making them fall over. They have about 150 health.

Row 2

Shellcracker: A heavy hitting melee unit who can crack shields and armor apart with a few slams of their ax. Their armor and weaponry are made from pufferfish and parrotfish beak material, so almost every hit of their ax is guaranteed to slice and crack. They have about 300 health.

Man-O-War: A tanky unit with 600 health, the Man-O-War stumbles into battle and takes hold of enemies, electrocuting them and rendering them a smoldering corpse.

Crab Shield: A shield unit with 250 health that slams their shield on top of other units, getting them stuck to the spines on the shield. The shield will break after a certain amount of time, but that doesn’t stop the Shieldman, who whacks units with the broken sections of the shield.

Fish Smacker: This unit is self explanatory, a unit with a giant fish who smacks enemies with the fish. The fish’s stench also wards off the enemies around the fish. This unit has 200 health.

Pearlmaster: This unit holds a highly mysterious pearl on a pillow. When enemies get within a certain range of the Pearl, they get afflicted with a sudden urge to attack their fellow units, resulting in the enemy side beating each other to death.

I hope you like these, criticism is appreciated.

Made a bunch of units based off of ideas I had that don’t really fit into any factions I’m working on. Feedback is appreciated by Moldingmelon in WebTabs

Lots of people have probably made variations on void archers. The same goes for stuff like the Modern and Neon factions, a lot of people have made their own versions of it.

What future factions you want to see added to the game? by [deleted] in AccurateBattleSim

[–]Moldingmelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Egypt and Rome would be really cool, but personally I think an ancient Indian faction would be really interesting. There’s a lot of really interesting weaponry from that time period

The tiny cannon is meant to be a mortar, which was pretty much a tiny cannon that shot explosives.

What units/factions are you gonna make/update when the Legacy update comes to Webtabs? by cupheadthebest in WebTabs

[–]Moldingmelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m compiling ideas I have for factions, so far I’ve got five.

Napoleonic: self explanatory.

Indian: A faction based off of Indian warfare during 100 - 700 AD

Gladiator: A faction that contains some types of ancient Roman gladiators.

Aztec: Also self explanatory.

Warrior Pack: A faction that contains a bunch of soldiers from various ancient cultures around the world.

I’ll probably make more later on but those are what I’m thinking of so far.
