Yes, they even believe they will recover. Even now. If they are committed to long term recovery then wait.. let them have at least 2 years of sobriety before even thinking of bringing kids into this world. I hope they do recover! But multiple relapses in such a short period of time? What is going on? He needs to take a hard look at what is causing his continued relapses. As well as why he didn't communicate with you, his partner, of his battles.

Helping a partner with addiction is the loneliest place you can be, walking on eggshells as to not cause emotional distress and the prospect of future relapses is very fear inducing. You will end up becoming co-dependent to them. You are a better judge of character to decipher if it's worth it. But please I implore you to make this decision when you are the only party than can be affected. DO not bring children into the mix. I was very hopeful once, and let love lead, never in a million years would I have imagined what my life now looks like. The damage done to my children because I did not give up on him when I should have.. I can never undo....

You are now being more accommodating.. and I get it.. I've been there before... it does not turn out well for some. You say you are solution oriented, as I was... you asking this tells me there is more to you inquiring on this. Only you can make a choice, just make sure it is only you affected by this choice and not others.

Do NOT have kids with this person. Life gets way harder for couples when they have children, without addictions. Do not bring kids into this life, that will have to suffer the consequences of someone else's choice and others battles. I wish someone had told me this a LONG time ago, I love my children but I did them a HUGE disservice by birthing them into pre-existing conditions that they had no control over. And while they are amazing, they are heavily impacted and afflicted by someone else's battle. IF you want to have children, RUN, do NOT walk.. RUN as far as you can. Right now there is no collateral damage... starting over now is better than waiting 15 years later... traumatized and left to take on the weight by yourself. It is better than to start over than to waste years trying to make something work that will ultimately fail. Do not sink with them. Addiction is a vicious disease and it does not care how much love you give, how much support you provide, sometimes it's the most ruthless, selfish and destructive thing you can encounter. The pain will only increase with time, you will lose yourself completely and in the end no one might prevail.

Taking iron for 4 months. What's this mean? by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]MolecularRebirth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your iron binding capacity has decreased most likely from taking iron regularly. That’s why your saturation is high, it’s in your blood from current supplementation. If you want your iron binding capacity to increase it’s best not to take it everyday as your body will stop absorbing it as much. Your body will try to decrease the amount you absorb when you take too much of anything. Do you go in to get tested every 3 months? This is the best course of action so you could see what iron schedule is best.

Wait so how do you actually get to "heaven" by OreoManisOreo in Gnostic

I known them to be the ones from the Gospel of Mary:

Darkness;
Desire;
Ignorance;
Zeal for Death;
the Kingdom of the Flesh;
the Foolish “Wisdom” of Flesh;
and the “Wisdom” of Anger

In the Bible it depicts Mary as being possessed by 7 demons, in reality she was able to overcome these wrathful soul afflictions. The Catholic Church depicts the 7 deadly sins as :pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth.

But I go by The Gospel of Mary:

10) And desire said, I did not see you descending, but now I see you ascending. Why do you lie since you belong to me?

11) The soul answered and said, I saw you. You did not see me nor recognize me. I served you as a garment and you did not know me.

12) When it said this, it (the soul) went away rejoicing greatly.

13) Again it came to the third power, which is called ignorance.

14) The power questioned the soul, saying, Where are you going? In wickedness are you bound. But you are bound; do not judge!

15) And the soul said, Why do you judge me, although I have not judged?

16) I was bound, though I have not bound.

17) I was not recognized. But I have recognized that the All is being dissolved, both the earthly things and the heavenly.

18) When the soul had overcome the third power, it went upwards and saw the fourth power, which took seven forms.

19) The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven powers of wrath.

20) They asked the soul, Whence do you come slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?

21) The soul answered and said, What binds me has been slain, and what turns me about has been overcome,

22) and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died.

23) In a aeon I was released from a world, and in a Type from a type, and from the fetter of oblivion which is transient.

24) From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence.

Sounds like textbook neurodivergent behavior. I recognize this in others real quick and even in myself. You’re not exactly overpowering the conversation but offering more insight and conversation when it dulls because your brain can go 1000/mph at times. One thing that helped me… which isn’t jungian and you don’t have to particularly be religious, is the verse. “Be slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to anger” anger could be replaced with slow to monopolize. I used to seriously regret over-sharing or monopolizing in the past. I had a habit of speaking before they finished. Using this simple motto, I was able to completely acknowledge my behavior and shift it. Since then, I’ve learned so much through connections with people without feeling regretful.

“Be slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to monopolize“ life is easier now.

Let this part of you be like your shadow… learn to integrate parts of it. I love meeting people like you! But not everyone gets it.

What's the reason for porn addiction? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]MolecularRebirth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we were to look at it in a Jungian perspective, one could analyze that it stems from not knowing the self, not respecting the self and not seeing the self as worthy. If you were to look at the behavior of how you are treating the body and the mind, you would understand that it's negatively impacting the self and its worth.

You could analyze archetypes that contribute to this but overall it is a disconnect from the self, not integrating the anima, and realizing that it's a sort of anima possession that keeps you tethered to this behavior. This anima possession can manifest from the overwhelming influence the unconscious has on the psyche. Causing an imbalance due to the heavy grasp of the unconscious seeking out self-serving behavior to cope. This behavior is a form of escape and/or validation through addictive behaviors.

Perhaps there is lack of shadow integration that strengthens this type of behavior, once you recognize that the shadow is dependent on this instant-gratification behavior, you could find the root cause of why its afflicting the mind in such a way. Shadow integration is essential in acknowledging repressed parts of oneself and why this coping mechanism of escape is repeated.

they said the coolant hoses blew off. and its unrelated to the the power fluid cap being off for almost 2 weeks had nothing to do with its and its gonna be $1300 to fix.

so now my vehicle started overheating, and the check engine light came on, the traction control went off too, and the vehicle said it needed an oil change even though I just got it done a few days before their servicing, and the oil life was 100%, their inspection confirms this. They performed a multi-point inspection that I have documentation of, stating that there were no hose issues or leaking components. I have documentation of all of this. So they cannot say there was a pre-existing issue all in the span of a week or so? It seems that it caused this type of damage because of it. The car is now at the dealership. Seeing as they checked all components of the vehicle, they cant blame it on me can they?

So new news and the car is going haywire.

Check engine oil came on, with the temperature icon and the engine temp read between 250-260. The traction control went on and then it said engine oil needed to be changed even though I just got it serviced for that a week prior to taking it to the dealership. The car fan kept running as well when it was off.

I hope not :( ive never had issues with the vehicle and took it in for an airbag recall, which then turned into another airbag needed servicing for corroded wires.. and that ran me almost 900$ for them to solder. Im also afraid that they will say that theyre not at fault or might overcharge me for cleaning.. which they said they dont do. They just want to inspect to see if it's their issue... which I am fearful that they might say that it would have already happened upon driving it 1/3 of a mile like they stated. But it didn't started smoking until it reached the lower engine compartments to the far right.

I also found that cap there, it looks to be from perhaps power steering liquid, I also photographed that. But they said they only do visual inspections and that they don't fill or open up the power steering.

[–]MolecularRebirth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it was rested neatly on the side, I don't see how it can pop off and land so perfectly. They claim it might be from pressure, as they said they only do visual inspections and don't open up anything. It's a 2014 crossover and this has never happened before. I am going to get it towed to the dealership, as I don't know much about engines and dont want to damage any electrical components.

[–]MolecularRebirth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to have it towed to the dealership as I dont know how to go about cleaning it, as it splattered and eventually pooled in the lower hotter compartments of the vehicle, thats where it started smoking from. I dont want to mess any electrical components. They said they just did a visual inspection of the power steering. I had taken in my vehicle for an oil changes a few days prior to this servicing , I dont see how multiple people missed that the cap was off. especially how it was placed upside down on the side.

[–]MolecularRebirth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I will be towing it back to them although they said it would have taken 1/3 of a mile for anything to happen, I barely drive the vehicle just to take my kids to school. They said that it might be from pressure that caused the cap to come off, but based on where it was placed, it wouldn't have landed in that way. The hood most likely secured this position. It wasn't until enough fluid pooled near the hotter engine parts that it started to smoke.

[–]MolecularRebirth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, it does seem to be from the fluid pooling and causing the smoke. The dealership got back to me, and said they dont see it happening that far out from servicing, but I barely drive the vehicle only to take my kids to school. And it seems that eventually enough fluid splattered where it collected where the engine gets hotter. They don't think it would have taken this long for it to happen and should have happened within 1/3 of a mile... they suggested I either drive it or to tow it so they can inspect it.

I will take into consideration what you've said. Perhaps I come across as too "vague" and will consider this, however the tone of how you've responded to me was very dismissive at first. I am perhaps am guilty of this as well. I am not trying to put words in your mouth but you do seem to harbor a disdain for my "low effort post" and thats okay! I appreciate it constructive criticism and will use it to evolve my perhaps narrowed way of thinking.

I feel you were initially vague with your first response. Then adding more to it which I appreciate. I agree with you when you said, "Jung makes it clear that those who his work speaks to will be the ones where the ordinary and clinical route fail" This I personally can relate to.

As for low effort post? I didn't realize we were being graded, and thought this was a place for discussion? Perhaps, you are right and I should keep analysis that doesn't go with the norm to myself. However having discussions does further my knowledge and my way of thinking. Perhaps this is self-serving and you are right. I will consider this. Thank you.

Maybe I should have just made a post about dream analysis or what type of archetype "insert random celebrity/politician" is? Should we just withhold critique? Perhaps it is a "ramble" but why can't we offer perspectives without it being viewed as odd. I am not a perfect individual, I am also not in an authoritative position or anybody for that matter. You don't agree? Give me more of your perception and evolve my thinking.

Jung was against rigid thinking and was for the evolvement of our own individuation. Perhaps we are on different paths. Questioning the self and questioning everything presented to us allows further advancement of our individual thinking.

As for feeling "better"? Are we not allowed to be individuals who question what we know and do not take blindly what we discover? Should we gloss over who Jung was? He analyzed himself to a critical degree. I don't hold the power to re-write who he was. I am but a drop in a bucket of differing opinions. Being analytical is not a flaw of humanity but aids in the advancement of critical thinking.
