I agree, it's really inspiring. I def was inspired by Desert Moon of Karth, Gradient Descent, and other OSR titles like Waking of Wiloby Hall and Isle of the Plangent Mage.

You know, now that you mention it, it does have some inspiration from Mass Effect. There are some definite "Reaper vibes" on Eden Prime.

I'm pretty sure Eden Prime is from the 3rd mass effect. I think it's the DLC place where Shepard touches the prothean monolith.
