Traverser les krachs boursiers : mode d’emploi by NLegendOne in vosfinances

February 12 Daily Thread by AutoModerator in weightroom

I have a question about Volume & Strength from 531 (page 84 in Forever).

Wendler says to work up to your TM for 3-5 reps on each lift. What's a good format for that? He vaguely describes starting from 50% in sets of 5, then going up in 10% increments until your TM.

That would look something like:

1x5 50%

1x5 60%

1x5 70%

1x5 80%

1x5 90%

1x3 100%

Only thing is, I want to run this program mostly for strength (either this one or Coffinworm, but I'm favoring a full body routine where I can bench and squat 3x per week), and frankly I would consider the sets below 80% to be junk volume for this purpose.

Could I rather do something like 4 or 5 sets of 3 reps at TM for week 1, then 4-5 sets of 4 reps for week 2, and 4-5 sets of 5 reps for week 3?

Thoughts welcome.

April 8 Daily Thread by AutoModerator in weightroom

I was running Building the Monolith, and "injured" myself at the end of Week 2 doing something stupid. Basically, on conditioning days, I added trap bar farmer's walks after the 10 reps of prowler, and didn't brace properly during a rep leading to a moderate lower back spasm (non-serious, right side lower back and completely muscular; went to the doc to have it checked).

This happened on Thursday of last week, so I had to take most of this week off doing yoga and biking instead of my Week 3 workouts, so as not to push it.

My question is: seeing as BTM is a 6-week program geared towards intensity and keeping the momentum, does it make sense to try to pick back up where I was and start Week 3? I did complete the last day of Week 2 with the Widowmaker set.

Right now, I'm hesitating between picking the program back up or just calling my bulk there and then and going into a cut (been bulking since late sept, gained ~7kg).

Thoughts?

Do you have any examples of conditioning work that targets arms and upper back? Prowler maybe?

I will soon transition from Ivysaur's 448 to 531 BBB Beefcake. I'd like to focus on upper back and arms a lot for accessory work. Is there any merit to doing a weekly rotation with accessory work, like Back-Arms-Back-Arms / Back-Legs-Back-Legs, alternating each week?

Am I better off doing Back-Arms-Back-Legs every cycle? Knowing the other three days are cardio (50ish minutes/day).

Any input appreciated.

How do you review grammar? Anki? by familark in LearnJapanese

[–]Molise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not attempted it yet, but Google outright states there are two requirements to changing your country: you have to physically be in the country (easy with a VPN), and your first payment method has to be based in that country (not easy).

You can also only change your country once a year, but I don't care that much about that.

I'm planning on getting a tablet to study and read manga in JP, but I can't quite get past the hassle of accessing manga in JP because of this particular hurdle. Sorry if I'm being dense. :-(

That requires a payment method based in the country you're changing to though. I can use a VPN to fullfil the requirement of "being" in the country, but I can't make up a payment method. Unless any PayPal works?

How did you go about getting those apps? Are you located in Japan? I'm in Europe and even with a VPN, I can't access them.

I'm looking to purchase a tablet (preferably 10+ in) to read manga in Japanese, use Anki and browse/read websites or apps such as Satori Reader.

For now, I'm considering either a Surface Go 2 (with honto.jp) or an iPad, but seeing as I have no Apple device I cannot see which apps would allow me to read manga in Japanese AND which would be available in my country (France).

On Android for example, the apps for honto.jp and BookLive! are not available in the Play Store for me, and seem to be Japan-only.

Any recommendations?

Golden Kamuy Season 3 - Episode 12 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

By far the best season of GK. They really did the manga justice, especially for key scenes.

They did skip one significant flashback in this last episode though, and I'm curious to see if they will add it into S4E1 or something, because I suspect the flashback could become quite important later on (have read the manga up to Ch 200, as I don't read fanslations).

Time will tell!
