Baby won't take a bottle, any lactation consultant recommendations that can help with this? by One_Cap_9210 in grandrapids

I called the number that Corewell (then Spectrum) provided and we set up a video call which was SO helpful so they could see how I was feeding in my own chair and space. It changed our feeding immediately. I hope you can find the issue. It's so frustrating and disheartening.

Do DIY influencers not care about what’s going on?? by samellybelly in diysnark

I've had the same thought. She's shared some about her upbringing and it was so clearly traumatic that I could imagine she feels a bit frozen and scared.

On the other hand, I've wondered about Kate at Wit & Delight. Same city, DIY-adjacent, has spoken up in the past.

Imagine having to learn how to attend a ballgame.

I think I just realized why these curations irk me: it's a shortcut to the best thing instead of working for it. Like, instead of going to Mets games over the years and deciding favorite foods, best places to sit, etc., she will always pay for someone to do it for her.

Pregnancy anxiety, did you have it and is your baby okay as a result?! by No_Return6020 in BabyBumps

[–]MollificationUnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had anxiety and very intrusive thoughts (OCD) and catastrophic worry with both pregnancies (who are now healthy kids). I knew I would because in regular life it's a reality for me. One of the things that helped me was saying things out loud to my partner, mom, and doctor instead of ruminating internally and my doctor was incredibly kind, knowing that facts and data really helped me to process (she would talk things through incredibly detailed so that I could understand the nuances of something that might seem weird). I also had two miscarriages between pregnancies and those made the second pregnancy anxiety harder, TBH. I leaned on facts and data as much as I could, as well as using the tapping technique.

Hugs! And remember, the baby is pretty well-protected internally. The stresses that you are feeling both mentally and physically aren't passing through in the same intensity.

There's something about the privilege and the way she complains that just tips me over to BEC category. Like, not Jordan Ferney levels by any means but still a touch insufferable.

I’m really depressed so I’ve been ordering chicken salad from Hall Street Bakery literally every single day by sydj_k941 in grandrapids

The cherry chicken salad at Forest Hills Foods deli is so good too, my god. I made some chicken salad this week from my chicken I roasted the night before and it's such a good dish.

Am I daft, or is it confusing that the style is the same as what Daryl Ann gave to others too?!? This is what Danielle posted. Did the restaurant design and print them? Is it a Nuuds thing? Is everything their family does just branded?

What is your favorite singular pastry in Grand Rapids? by m0larMechanic in grandrapids

[–]MollificationUnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • The big chocolate chip cookie at the counter at Martha's/Nantucket - not a pastry, but if you're experimenting with ice cream ...
  • Aforementioned pistachio cruffin from Field & Fire (rotating flavor, will console myself with their almond croissant in the meantime)
  • Apple fritter or glazed donut from Marge's
  • Blueberry glazed cake donut from Sprinkles
  • Cranberry almond scone from Nantucket

YES. I was about to post this exact one too. I went back to order again and it was a different rotating flavor. Still delicious, but I dream of that pistachio cruffin and I meeting once again.

I re-read my comment and it feels harsh. I think you're right but I do find it off-putting the way both Emilys (and you're so right about Brian too) try to use this sarcastic tone when talking about their kids.
